Keeping Her Promise

Paris Hilton told Larry King when she was released from prison last year that she wanted "to help raise money for kids and for breast cancer and multiple sclerosis."
Well, looks like she's living up to one of those promises!
According to new reports, hospital officials say Paris made an "extremely generous" donation toward the construction of a medical building at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles.
The exact amount was not revealed.
In a statement the socialite said, "The children I have met through my involvement with Childrens Hospital have truly touched my heart. I am proud to make a donation and lend my name to the fundraising effort to help children who are facing terribly serious illnesses."
The 460,000-square-foot Childrens Center for Cancer and Blood Diseases is expected to open in 2010.

Good for her. Really, I've never got why people are so hard on this girl. Ya, she has made some mistakes, but have a helluva lot of other people her age. She is always very polite in public, is very well groomed, wears nice dresses, photographs beautifully, obviously has a soft spot for small animals, and has made her own fortune thru brilliantly marketing herself. I respect her.

Did you know the American public donates more to charity than all of Hollywood celebrities millions combined? It's good that she's doing something good with her money, but why is this newsworthy? When us poor folks donate, we don't need to go tell it on the mountain.
Another able-bodied person in a position to help others is always a good thing. She has so many blessings in her life now that she has extra to give. I'm glad for her, and she'll get more from giving back than she ever got from the old lifestyle.
I'm happy to hear she finally did something positive. Her boyfriend probably put her up to it (since he's been such a good influence on her.)

to the person who said she was in Jail not prison thank you! I don't understand why people always say prison. Prison is 1 year or more, Jail is up to 12 months. I took CJ classes but I think I would still know the difference. Not technical difference, but I would know that paris didn't go to prison.
