Congratulations to Miz Angelina Jolie!

The very pregnant star had a HUGE opening this weekend - and it wasn't the twins trying to pop out.

Angie's film, Wanted, did huge business at the box office in America.

The movie made $51.1 million and….

- Wanted was the biggest opening of a live action film in Jolie's career
- It turned out to be the best June opening ever for an R-rated movie, beating Knocked Up's $30.6M, and the 6th highest R-rated opening of all time
- The studio expected only a $35+M opening, so the film did much better than anticipated
- Angie proved she is a big draw: Cinemascore said the main reasons given for choosing to see Wanted were the action (67%) and Jolie (61%).

We weren't able to see it this weekend, but we definitely wanna check out the pic this week.

It's been getting great reviews!

Weak Plot, good action. Dumb ending. Also there's a tiny two secong scene where they show the Lasalle Bank Theater (now Bank of America) and the marquee reads Wicked. I live in Chicago was an Usher for Braodway in Chicago and can tell you Wicked was NEVER at that theater. I thought it was dumb how they changed that.

Honestly, the movie itself was alright. It seemed like a less intense SHOOT 'EM UP but Angelina Jolie definitely adds some fun to the film. It was okay. But it's definitely no surprise that this movie made that much money. She's hot in the news and James McAvoy has been starring in lots of movies these days. Angelina needs to stick with films that require very little acting, strong male leads, non-serious subject matter, guns and blood. If she continues to play the same role over and over (tomb raider, mms, wanted) the film is in the clear. Once good acting is required, she reverts to BOX OFFICE POISON.

THIS is the type of movie people want to see her in. Lara Croft, Mr & Mrs Smith… Her Daniel Pearl movie flopped because nobody wanted to see a story that was tragic and already played out in the media. There is enough shit surrounding us without buying a ticket to see more. Her and Brad make a nice couple. but, she's not as versatile an actor as he is. I'm not a movie theater goer, but, I'll eagerly await this one on HBO.

It's interesting that she was all but erased from "her" children's film (KFP) due to the unholiness of such an alliance (wholesome, kid flick attached to a heroin-addicted, child collecting slut) however, where blood, guns, acting like a whore, and being nude come into play- all extentions of the "real" Angelina Jolie Voight, it's perfectly reasonable to use her in promotions of such. Those are some pretty impressive records! Well, impressive in that they are so contrived.
