Just saw him in Dublin where he absolutely delivered. Was not expecting much and was so blown away by what an awesome performer he was. Delighted he was on the mainstage and headlined Glastonbury. A true genius. …he's a Dub you know, according to Bono!

Eh, im not a Jay-z fan but i am a huge Oasis fan (Mad fer it!!!) but he did deliver by playing wonderwall, it sucked and he wasnt even playing the chords on guitar so he wasnt even playing, but he brought it with his other songs! According to NME it was one of the biggest audience at the pyramid stage so props to Jay-Z!

Perez why are you running so behind?

    I loved it!

  38. 38

Well…that was nice? I dunno, I'm a purest when it comes to Wonderwall. It wasn't like he was paying homage or trying to incorporate alternative music, it was more like "hey, yall know what? I think I should do one of those songs at the beginning. I won't really learn it, we'll just make sure the crowd knows it then I don't really have to do anything. Hey, what about Wonderwall? Everyone knows that!"

    45

i was underwhelmed by jay-z. if the organisers want to showcase rap then don't go with lightweights. get a worthy act like the coup.

  46. Moman says – reply to this
    46

He really wasnt that bad, although his singing… o wait i mean mumbling was very irritating… o and the glstobury was fucking packed and fucking muddy

  49. Ryan says – reply to this
    49

If you didn't know, Noel Gallagher dissed Jay-Z saying that Rap didn't belong at Glastonbury, and my guess is that his performance of Wonderwall was to strike back at Noel. In my opinion it kind of failed though because he hardly knew any of the words. He should have made his own lyrics or something. Fail. Could have been a great opportunity.

  50. Gemma says – reply to this
    50

The entire festival was awesome, had a brilliant time, but Jay-Z? Not even close to what he's cracked up to be.

  51. 51

Jay Z should definitely not sing ever again.

    Ouch.

  52. esky says – reply to this
    52

obviously he can only shout, because he sure can't sing.

  53. Ja says – reply to this
    53

The lead singer of Oasis is the guy that said Jay-Z nor hip hop should be at Glastonbury. So, he's dissing him by opening with his song.

    You all are such idiots.

He's TONE DEAF and should never sing again. What's with the guitar? Can he even play it? 3 out of 10 for the entertainment value of hearing him howl.

    57

i love it!! amazing…i love how he sucked at singing and still rocked it!

  59. Emily says – reply to this
    59

Yes, Jay did deliver. He had the biggest crowd the pyramid stage has ever seen in the history of Glastonbury. He Rocked it.

It pains me to watch this. How could he destroy such an amazing song in front of so many people. It almost seems as if he didnt quite know the words. Sad.

  65. sucks says – reply to this
    65

    what the fuck is this?
he is completely tone deaf and didn't even sing into the mic
oasis will be PISSED when they see this
    fucking terrible

  66. bitty says – reply to this
    66

even the mess that is liam gallagher could probably rap a jay-z tune better than jay-z can sing an oasis song.

  67. UMMMM says – reply to this
    67

wow… i love the 99 problems but what the fuck?!?

    he totally masacred wonderwall

  68. tart says – reply to this
    68

    Disrespectful ASS.

  69. ~ says – reply to this
    69

this was horrible, he destroyed the song. he is defintely not the best rapper alive, he barely even sang into the microphone. terrible.

  70. Lilly says – reply to this
    70

The Wonderwall part was clearly a joke. He was just having some fun. And he stepped away from the mic and let the audience sing because as you can see, he can't sing.

    He was awesome.

  71. emmas says – reply to this
    71

I thought it was pretty craptastic if you ask me…..Jay-Z needs to stick to rapping which is what he is great at and leave the singing to Oasis!

    Love you Perez!!

    72

    how sad…how pathetic.

when an american who can't sing worth a damn to begin with…
has to go and vocally butcher a song the way he did

what's even more sad….is that the director of the Glastonbury Festival feels
the need to include some over-rated ghetto american "talent" in the festivals
    line up

i suppose it could have been worse…he could have have both jz and kanye there
at the same time…that would have been far worse

but still….whenever a "rock" festival feels the need to pander to r&b and hip-hip
    acts….

then something is absolutely wrong with that bad decision

you don't see "gangsta" rap and r&b festivals pandering to Oasis
    to play at their festivals

    i'm just sayin…

  74. notal says – reply to this
    74

no talent apeman. he cannot sing. why did he even try to cover that song. this guy is only good at one thing…rapping about drugs, hookers, and ghettos. he had no business touching a classic song like that.

go back to your housing project where your talentless ass belongs.

  75. 75

no he didnt deliver at all. wtf was tht? tht was no cover of wonderwall if it was then it wasnt his it was the crowds. would have much preferred nerd to headline if they want some rappin. or kanye west!

  76. Sean says – reply to this
    76

I think yall are missing the fact that him singing that song was a COMPLETE joke. OASIS, the guy from Noel was the one talking about Jay-Z and how he shouldnt be head lining…

    Did u all miss that??
