Looks like a new Wes Anderson film isn't happening anytime soon!
Jason Schwartzman is set to star in an HBO comedy pilot called Bored to Death.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, he'll play a a struggling thirtysomething writer with a drinking problem in Brooklyn who, following a painful breakup with his girlfriend, decides to emulate his heroes from the novels of Raymond Chandler and Dashiell Hammett. He takes out an ad pretending to be a private detective and starts taking cases — solving some and making others worse.
If the show was to get picked up by HBO for a series, would you watch?

His band Coconut Records is amazing.

I love him! I would totally watch. In addition to his skills in acting he is also an incredible musician. I loved I Heart Huckabees, The Darjeeling Limited, Marie Antoinette and Rushmore. Not to mention Coconut Records is one of my favorites.

I recently saw their stage show which filled packed houses and provided the great hilarity they've always provided. The difference now is they're older and even funnier! IMAGINE!!!

With Wes Anderson's next film being an animated feature and Owen Wilson taking a break from acting after completing Marley and Me and Night at the Museum 2, I'm not surprised that Jason is jumping ship to TV. Also, Jason IS a very nice person. I met him after a screening of "The Darjeeling Limited" in Philly back in October. He's a TOTAL sweetie!!
