I will not give them a cent. We pay them with our taxes and their suffering is voluntary as no one forces them to join the military. This war will only end is the death and suffering reaches the point that people refuse to join the military.
Let them suffer for their choices.

Why not donate to organizations where people and animals DO NOT HAVE A CHOICE!! I am not down on the troops by any means.. I just say.. why are we supporting their families. The men and women in these families made a choice to join the military.. Why is this a worth while cause? I would much rather HELP THE MEN AND WOMEN who are there..

One more thing.. Pick one or two worth while organizations and support those.. you are coming off as some Bleeding Heart Slut who will put up any organization that passes your way.. Have you even looked into some of the administration fee's for these organizations? 20-30-40% I have worked with volunteer groups that work with under a 5% administration fee.

These people join the military voluntarily and we compensate them with money , subsidized housing, socilaized medicine, discount food and retail establishments etc…
They chose to suffer and I have paid them through my taxes. They deserve no more honor or respect than a garbage man or a bimbo like yourself.
My husband was just deployed and left me and out two small children home. I am using this services. Help donate to help familiies of deployed military.

This is a great organization to get involved with. i cant believe the inconsiderate flakes that post bulls*** comments about our military. As a military wife it saddens me to read these things. your right it is a voluntary service these brave men and women sign up for, get off your a** and do something for your country. lives are lost fighting to protect your dumba** so you have the freedoms you enjoy while they are deployed not having much and certainly being away from their families. this organization provides support for families of deployed military, your taxes pay for our military. well our military pays with their lives for you, lord forbid you could understand that. next time you go out for a fun time, think about the little kids that are without their parent/parents because they are fighting for this country while you are out partying. get a life! thank you perez for putting this organization on your website and i sure hope people will take a little time to read up on it and support our brave voluntary military and their families. : ) for those out there that talk crap about our military how about you voluneer some ofyour time to go overseas and fight for what you have for free.

I think a good portion of the country has no clue what it is like to be so proud to work for your country. The pay isn't that great, the housing can be atrocious and there are few luxuries while deployed. Spouses and children are left behind and deserve our absolute unconditional support. What does it hurt??

Re: Linda – thank you for the kind words and show of support…pay isnt the best, that is right. housing…wow…its like barracks in some places. luxury…..we have commissary to hop for food, it isnt that much of a discount and we pay a surcharge that is basically the same as taxes. we have an exchange to shop at but again not much of a discount. as for medicines, yea we can get them at hospital but most of the time i wait about 4 hours toget them filled or pay a copay at walmart like other people toget my medicines. great luxury to enjoy huh for sacrificing your life to volunteer for people that take advantage of what is provided to them voluntarily. ugh!

All other countries do not have all voluteer military's and "everyone" has to do there time. This is a good organization. My daughter went to camp through them free of charge while her dad was deployed to Iraq. It really does make a difference to those kids!

Re: BR – i think alot of people are very passionate about what they believe in no doubt. whats not appreciated is the disrespect for an all volunteer military that does fight for what they believe in, providing freedom thats we all enjoy. there are alot of retired military that work for usps, state dept, doc, dent, the list could go on forver, lets not forget some of our veterans are homeless and live on the streets. were is their govenrment when they have nothing and are sleeping on the streets. this organization is for military and not for usps,state dept,doc ect….they have their own organizations that provide for them.
T- I completely agree. I support our troops.. I feel for the families that are left behind, but again, this country has shown a lot of support for the troops. We have a lot of issues here (such as troops who are homeless or mentally unstable.. Child molestation, drug use, animals not being spayed or neutered. That fact is.. we have a lot of problems, but this is about an organization that helps military children go to summer camp for free as one of their services. Explain that to the homeless vet. I will be honest, the only PEOPLE organization I donate to is National Coalition for Homeless Vets. Short of that.. my money goes to Animals which are silent partner in this community we live in.

and yes, we do have an all volunteer army and if it wasn't for my husband VOLUNTEERING, along with all the others who serve, then i am almost sure our asshole president would have instated a draft. so they serve so YOU don't have to at that means alot.

Why are people who are critical of military operations considered "not brave"? The war has been shown over and over again to be bullshit - all it does it benefit the rich of this country. The US government wants us to all fall in line and never use our critical thinking skills - and we are playing this part perfectly when we support this war. Besides, since when was it brave to kill thousands of innocent civilians like our troops do in Iraq everyday? As for the pay, my husband is an Army National Guardsman, who took a several thousand dollar a month pay cut from his civilian job when he was issued his deployment orders. You think the benefits are that great? Give me a break. Have the father of your children put in harms way, get paid pennies, and still have to pay deductibles, etc. He didn't choose this war - but he is proud of this country and must stand behind his word - a quality that seems to be lost on this generation.

I dont believe in this war and never had. but i do support my husband and he has been in for about 14 years and had volunteerd way before sept 11, so that has nothing to do with it. He joined because he wanted to not because he was made to. i would like to see all of you write a letter or email to your white house with your complaints, it probably wont do much but at least point your anger were it needs to be, the government and not the men and woman who are serving this country.

I wish the government would spend more money on our problems in this country,no reason to have homeles vets or anyone for that matter. I always say there is no reason none a child should be harmed. if you harm a child of any age you should rot in prison. i am not here to argue about the rights and wrongs of our government, i just wanted to say this organization does wonderful things for our children that is a safe, fun enviromenment that shows them there are people who care about them and their families and want to show them a fun time at camp.

I also am the person who drive down the road and will see a homeless person beggin for money, i normally dont give money but i will go into a place and buy them some food and and water. There are good people in this country, there are others that take advantage of everything anyone has. i always say karma is a bitch and it will come back around 10 fold to you. Im not asking anyone on here to bend over and kiss my hubby's a** because he volunteers for this country, but I would like everyone to think about the kids involved that miss out on so much. My husband missed every childs bday this year, plus anniversary,plus holidays, our oldest child graduation. But he doesnt complain and we make the most of it. I volunteered to marry him and i will always support him. But please take a minute to think about the kids, they are always the ones that miss out. so camp is fun for them and i ahte that people think this is a worthless cause because it isnt. My children have not used it but we dont have much extra money and we always donate what we can so another child can go have some fun and take their mind off of their parent that is deployed for any cause. thank you all
