The British media reports that a Friends movie is in the works.

Apparently, the success of the Sex and the City movie has inspired the crew to get back together and make a flick.

Sounds like wishful thinking to us!

A source says, "Jennifer (Aniston), Courteney (Cox) and the rest of the cast are keen to reprise their roles, under the right circumstances. The box office success of Sex And The City has really got their wheels spinning about how a Friends film could be just as big, if done right. Timing and the script are really important, but now that Courteney and Jen both have production companies, they can potentially get very involved in those decisions."

The SATC movie promised sexy glitz, glamour and couture on a grander scale than what we saw on TV.

Friends on the big screen sounds like a big yawn fest.

And, we're surprised that Maniston is game.

Hasn't she been trying to distance herself from her Friends character Rachel?

Well, an insider reveals, "As the biggest star of the Friends franchise, Jennifer can't help but look at what's happened with Sarah Jessica Parker and the Sex And The City film and be a little jealous. What's held back a Friends movie so far is that people were worried that Jennifer had simply become too famous to play Rachel again. But the truth is that Jennifer is finally willing to do it, and she'd love to work with that whole team of actors and producers again."

So…'Rachel' is the only thing the Man can do.

A friends movie would be just as successful if not more because it appeals to a bigger demographic, whereas SATC only targeted women and a few men… they should definitely do it!

Why are you always so negative? So what if they want to make a Friends movie? What's it to you and why does it rub you so? If you don't think they should make it, just don't go see it. But we all know you'll be first on line to see it, and then tell everyone how great it is.

Me, I don't care one way or the other. But if Jennifer Aniston and her co-stars want to collect a few million for a little work, then more power to them. And so what if her movie career hasn't been stellar. If it disappears, she can always step down a few rungs of the ladder and start a snarky and meaningless internet gossip website.

This would probably be a really funny film but I doubt it will happen. The characters all moved away and they left behind all of the signatures of the show…..(apartment…)… and perez get off your high horse - this was one of the most successful shows ever put on television

Ha, this is the same person who has a horrible clothing line @ Hot Topic (BTW: records show that the line has sold poorly) and a "down in the dumps" special TV show calling (ratings has been almost as bad as Paid Advertisement @ 3am) something lame? SATC movie might have done well (people were curious) but they should have left it with how the series ended: much better story, way better written, and much less disappointing. i know that this business is all about money tho, so i guess they have to do it, but i for one am not going to see it.

I think it's a great idea! I'd love to see the old gang again. The story lines, especially with Joey, are endless. Chandler and Monica with the twins, Rachel and Ross finally married, Phoebe married and maybe with some free-spirited kids of her own…I hope this idea moves forward.
