Country darling Taylor Swift will be pouring some sugar on cable channel CMT's popular Crossroads show. For those of you who aren't familiar, Crossroads is a show that gets a band/musician from two different genres to do a performance together.
Swift is set to rock out with old school English rock band Def Leppard.
Miz Swift is super excited about the pairing. She says in a press release, "Every time I've seen Crossroads on CMT I've always thought, 'If I ever get to do one of those, it HAS to be with Def Leppard!,' so this is really a dream come true for me," she said in a press release. "I have been screaming the words to Def Leppard songs for years… so it's amazing that I'm going to get to share a stage with them this year!"
The Swift/Def Leppard concert will tape in Nashville in October and premiere on CMT in November.
We can't wait to see it!

It's great that Def Leppard is getting this visibility! They have triumphed over hardships, make great music, and put on the best concerts. They have done well for themselves beyond the 80s. Not that there is anything wrong with the 80s… this genre of music rocks, has real melodies, and is too often mocked and overlooked!
Re: proud – I'm with you, Proud. I have been a huge fan Joe, Phil, Rick, Sav, Viv and Steve (RIP) since before Taylor was even thought of. They so deserve the exposure. Their Tim McGraw duet is doing well and it's great to see them more. I'm not particularly a fan of Taylor, I just can't get past the fact that she looks like a Barbie doll to me, but hey, if it gets Def Leppard front and center, then more power to them.

I have said for years that Shania should do Crossroads with Def Leppard! I mean Mutt produced it all and some of her songs would sound like old Def Leppard hits if they played them now… Maybe a sore subject for Shania with the whole Mutt thing, but it would have been heavenly!

I am HUGE def leppard fan and I am all for them getting more exposure, but this…this is bullshit. Taylor Swift does not have the vocal ability to do something like "Pour Some Sugar on Me" or "Let's Get Rocked." I want to cry at the thought of her butchering "Two Steps Behind" or "Have You Ever Needed Someone So Bad." And the thought of Def Leppard having to do one of her winy-assed, stupid, immature songs makes me want to puke. Def Leppard is so much better than this!
Unfortunately Def Leppard will be jammin with someone a million times less talented than they are. Taylor is a great songwriter for sure, but can't sing for the life of her.. and the quick fame has definitely gone to her head. I have never hated an artist in any genre in any time period more than I hate Taylor Swift. She has no talent. She can't sing. She is incredibly, incredibly ugly. So ugly that words can't put her ugliness to justice. She has a horrible personality. Her speaking voice (which sounds awful) confirms that her country singing voice is a fraud. The ONLY reason Perez Hilton posts nice things about her is because Taylor complimented him during a Blender magazine interview. It is an extreme shame that a wannabe "artist" can get good press from this site simply by manipulating it. Please let this ugly girl go away forever.

I would like to have seen Def Leppard in their prime 20 years ago but listening to Joe Elliott sing now would probably be a shadow of what he could do when he was young after years of screaming . As for Taylor Swift I hope she can sing live as good as on her studio recordings.
