I intern for the DA's Office in Madison, WI. Madison, especially the UW-Madison Campus, is very liberal. I highly doubt this law would be enforced. The couple would not be prosecuted. Additionally, the state as a whole is facing a major budget problem, I doubt the DAs Office would use its limited resources on such a case.

Typical move for this back assward state- I moved here from st. louis 3 years ago and low and behold- they still drag their women into their caves at night after 7pm. Hell, their shopping centers in Milwaukee close at 7 on the weekends!
The law was enacted to protect the underage (14 year olds) from leaving the state with an adult to be married in another state. Then returning and being recognized as married in Wisconsin. That is why they have stiff penalties. You cannot have it both ways. It is not always about persecuting gays! Protest to get adult consensual marriage legal, do not try to overturn laws that are meant to protect children.
