Big Opening, Bigger Disappointment

As you probably know by now, Will Smith seems to own the July 4th weekend for movie releases.
His Independence Day, Men In Black, and Men In Black 2 movies have netted millions over the holiday weekend.
So, it's no shocker that his latest film, Hancock, is out this July 4th as well.
The movie is already off to a good start and its expected to make over $100 mill this weekend.
Unfortunately for all those involved, the movie is getting shiteous reviews!

Curious quesiton here…..Is it true that the scientologists still believe L. "Ronnie" Hubbard is alive? I mean that douchebag died years ago…..I had a friend that joined the Scientologists because he was an addict….they paid for his treatment and everything. However what he told me was that you get to a certain level where you have to swallow your tongue…..he couldn't do it. Oh yeah, they also take your entire income - you have to sign it away. I went to see it, but it was ONLY okay. The plot was TERRIBLE!!! The superhero thing was cool, and so was the fact that he was an asshole. But once that stopped, it wasn't that good. I had so many unanswered questions and I wanted to know a lot more.
i saw it yesterday and it was entertaining…..there is only so much storylines ppl can work with these days…so i dont think it was that bad…everyone should go see it……First!!!!!!!

I'll go watch it! I trust the critics so much anymore. Especially when it comes to big name stars, it feels like at times they have an agenda and right now they are anti-Will. I hope it breaks records!
No thanks. Little Willie makes some decent movies, but I'm not devoted to seeing his movies, just because he's the star. This looked as awful as the reviews are suggesting. A big budget and countless effects shots can't save a dud.

I didn't want to see it before the shit reviews, so now I really feel like I'm not missing anything. I'm tired of these robot actors and their formula films. Smith's proximity to Cruise is turning him into another highly uninteresting actor who comes off more like his own product placement than like a human being.

in all honesty, reviews have very little to do with a film. reviews are written by very ignorant, closed-minded people. it's very rare that a movie ever gets a "good" review, in fact, most "good movies" including a list of last years academy award nominees, all get poor reviews. for what reason? perhaps, because half of the reviewers are little people who haven't made it in Hollywood and instead sit behind their desks and right off everything that comes their way.
in reality, a movie is a pretty amazing thing from point A to point B — the entire process of putting everything from pre-production to the final touches on promotion.

I saw the movie already on tuesday night and my brother and i both liked it. it was fun. ITS A MOVIE GUYS. Something to ENTERTAIN your ass! and it did. Its not like its this OSCAR/Golden Globe type movie, but its a fun super hero movie. it was cool. I liked the twist in it, though i kinda already knew what was gonna happen once i saw Charlise Therons face. I recommend the movie.
I saw it opening night and enjoyed it. It wasn't the best movie I've ever seen but I definitely had a good time in the theatre.
Im still going to go see it. Critics dont always get it right and ive heard a lot of non-critics who have seen the movie say its good. Not great, but good. So i think ppl should just go see it for themselves instead of letting critics determine for them what they should and shouldnt see..

I dont really go by REVIEWS! The movie was good…point and simple it was AMAZING! But it was for sure entertinaing and I would see it again. I laughed SOOOOOOOO hard at his attitude in the first 30 mins….the twist was kinda sudden and didnt develope enough, cause it was actually interesting but whatever

I saw the movie Tuesday and while Will Smith plays his role amazingly well, there was nothing he could do to save the rest of the film. The story lacked a clear direction. There were times when you just have no clue what if they're showing is supposed to be significant or not and if it is, it's just confusing. I.E. the frankenstien tickets towards the beginning, Charlize's pained expression when she sees him for the first time in the film. Am I supposed to get that they have a history or is she just trying to come off as a concerned mother?
Overall: I was mega-dissapointed BUT you will laugh, you will be entertained just don't expect something AMAZING (like I did) and you'll probably like it.

I will watch it the same way I watched The Happening, Strangers, and The Hulk. Stoned out of my mind. If I were sober, the awfulness of those movies surely would have done me in.
