Why would someone wish the Tribune Company to go under? They have been around for over a hundred years providing quality print journalism to LA, Chicago, Baltimore and Orlando. Plus they employ thousands. For those of you who say newspapers will die are wrong, newspaper will continue to thrive if they adapt to change and create unique ways to provide content to their users. There is still a market for them, I'm 25 and read the paper everyday and I'm sure I'm not the only one.

3)the majority of these homes getting forclosed on were built by morons who got carried away with the "housing boom" and built mansions in the middle of nowhere!!!

Don't blame anyone. Get off your dead ass and make yourself marketable to the new economy and you don't have to worry about layoffs. Layoffs / companies closing their doors is a direct result of the the demand for their supply (supply & demand…get it?). the demand for traditional newspapers is gone…if you want to blame someone, blame the internet. I'm no fan of Bush myself, but a rudimentary understanding of economics tells you that the president does little to control the economy in general, and to think that he has any effect on a liberal west coast newspaper is laughable.
Newspapers USED to present THE FACTS—and let you make up your own mind. And there used to be "TWO PAPER" towns, where when the news got "slanted", there were 2 opposing points of view, or at least 2 different outlooks at the news. Most cities only have ONE paper now, staffed by liberal journalists that are pumped out of universities staffed by stodgy old liberal leftovers from the 60's.
They don't tell their students to "REPORT THE NEWS" , they tell them to "USE THE NEWS TO CHANGE THE WORLD" in the liberal mindset.
People don't go for that shit anymore. They get their news from the Internet. Straight up and fast.

As I stood in one of our major retail shops yesterday (MR. PRICE) to pay for an item, I got to the sales lady and she looked terribly unhappy, I asked her what’s the matter and she told me the whole chain was advised that there will no longer be overtime and that their hours will be cut accordingly. She burst out into tears. Everything has become so expensive here in South Africa and everyone is feeling the pinch, except those “BUSH-WACKED” politicians all over the world. Thanks for nothing. My shopping experience was ruined by your President – now everywhere I go people are moping, no friendly service. I might as well do shopping online – my computer has more personality.
