Usually when Venus and Serena Williams play against each other, it's a shitty match to watch.
Thankfully, that wasn't the case at the Wimbledon Women's Finals on Saturday.
This time, Venus prevailed.
After losing five Grand Slam titles to her little sister, V took the prized Wimbledon title 7-5, 6-4.
AND, the Williams sisters also won the women's doubles championship.

Dude I never take time to comment but seriously Perez… the Williams matches are NEVER shitty. It's actually pretty amazing to watch those two play. Today match was disappointing (which is RARE) because it wasn't too hard for Venus to take it and it was done fast. Check your facts before just regurgitating other peoples mis-quotes.

Can't believe it's been 5 years since the last all-Williamses grand slam final. While it's not the all-time classic it could've been, nobody can accuse them of game-fixing. Not even you, Dementieva! Plus they won the doubles too, which is consolation prize for Serena. Good for them!
Re: Emily – No, Venus did lose to Serena 5 times in a grand slam final, including Wimbledon in '02 and '03. Venus also lost in French Open '02, US Open '02, and Australian Oen '03. You are the one who should check the facts.

You are looking at two of the most gifted female athletes on the PLANET — not just in the sport of tennis. These two beautiful women were raised and trained to attack the tennis ball, to leave everything out on the court, and that's what they have done.
For those of you who do not follow tennis very closely (cough - Perez -cough) you will appreciate this Grand Slam final regardless of its competitiveness (which was fierce) or its quality (and it was high quality). The fact that these two SISTERS from a rough end of LA have been able to overcome countless injuries (including knee surgery for Serena in 2003 when she was ON TOP of the game), personal grief and suffering (the loss of their sister) and general malice by the rest of the sports world is really something.
It's hard to believe that it's been five years since these two squared off on this stage. When it last happened, at the 2003 Wimbledon finals, it was at a time when people thought the sisters would rule the sport for many more years to come. My hopes, after seeing just how well they played this fortnight, is that they are able to bring out their best stuff for the years to come.
Congratulations to Team Williams for an outstanding 2008 Wimbledon.
I would have loved to watch the WOMEN'S final but I switced the channel when I saw I was watching the women's MEN'S final….yes….

Also for those of us who have followed their (the Williams sisters) careers, their father began training them very young with the sole intent of turning them into champions. He did a great job. It is just to damn bad that he is one of the worst racists out there. Even though he can take most of the credit for their success, he also almost killed their careers with his racist acts. And his constant using the race card when he/his daughters didn't get HIS way.
