A 70-year old Indian woman named Omkari Panwar recently gave birth to twins.
Yes. She's SEVENTY!
This feat makes her the oldest woman to give birth in the world.
She didn't get pregnant the good ole fashioned way, of course.
Panwar, the mother of 2 adult daughters, conceived via in vitro fertilization treatment.
She and her husband were desperate to produce a male heir.
Her husband, a retired farmer, sold his buffalos, mortgaged his land, spent his life savings and took out a credit card loan to pay for the treatment.
Looks like it all paid off.
One of the twins is a boy.
The old dog dad said, "The treatment cost me a fortune but the birth of a son makes it all worthwhile. I can die a happy man and a proud father."
It's sad that in certain places a girl can't be an heiress!

As americans we are so lucky for our freedoms. You know that you have to be in your twenties to even get married in China? You know what happens if you are pregnant out of marriage? You are FORCED TO ABORT… and as it is all FEMALE children are unwanted… some are aborted when the sex is determined, some of the latter is later killed AFTER birth. If you have a female daughter, you have to save a lot of money for a dowry to give to a prospective husband. They have absolutely NO REGARD for women or basic human rights! WE ARE SO LUCKY TO BE IN THIS FREE COUNTRY! I'm not sure how it is in India, but it looks to be a similiar culture where women have little rights.
I forgot to mention the one child law in china. If you have more than one, in some cases a fine will suffice, but there are other cases where women are just forced to abort. China also has such a bad rep for leaving female children along roadsides etc to let them die.
