From TV Rehab to…TV Recovery

Seems like those reality pimps at VH1 just can't get enough!
A new report claims that the home of Celebrity Rehab has an 'unconfirmed' new show in the works — Celebrity Recovery.
The show would supposedly be a cross between Surreal Life and The Real World.
It would feature a number of Celebrity Rehab alumni together in a fancy Beverly Hills mansion for 30 days while they try to rebuild their careers without drugs and alcohol.
Like Rehab, it would feature Dr. Drew Pinsky overseeing the madness.
Yawn!

I typically hate reality shows — most of them are totally ridiculous. Who on earth can believe you'll fall in love with some stranger/celebrity and live happily ever after? Dr. Drew's show though really did accomplish something and admired those on it who actually were trying to better themselves. I'd love to see how things are working out for everyone now. I saw Mary Ellen doing an interview somewhere recently and she looked fantastic.

YAY!! Nothing screams good TV like the train-wrecks that are HOLLYWEIRD! I was so addicted to Celeb-Rehab that I went to treatment for it! Cannot wait to see it and becomae addicted all over again!

This show and Dr. Drew are disgraceful. This "show" is a slap in the face to anyone who actually works a recovery program. Recovery from drug addiction (alcohol included…alcohol IS a drug) is not something to whore yourself out for because you need publicity. Dr. Drew is supposed to be CREDIBLE?! People say this show is inspirational? People who say that have never been to a drug and alcohol treatment center and have never tried to recover from this disease…this is disgusting…I think his medical license should be revoked..BTW, what kind of treatment center doesn't at least expose their patients to either Narcotics Anonymous or Alcoholics anonymous…so they can meet people WHO HAVE BEEN WHERE THEY ARE?! Dr. Drew IS A JOKE- AND ANOTHER THING…DRUG ADDICTS DON'T GET "SOBER"…THEY GET "CLEAN" …any addiction therapist who has any knowledge of Narcotics Anonymous (as any good addiciton therapist would) would know that…HEY DR. DREW..WHY DON'T YOU STOP TELLING THAT HEROIN JUNKIE ABOUT "SOBRIETY" YOURE A FUCKING JOKE DUDE
Sounds more like a half-way-house to me. My cousin has a problem with substance abuse and has been in and out of rehab and half way homes for many years. I'm fond of Dr. Drew and all he does to get addicts on the "road to recovery". IMO, I don't think DD is an attention whore, rather his tv shows give us insight into the recovery process.

all kinds of props to dr. drew. and yes, i did say props. but to all these "celebrities" whos careers were barely ever existent or are long gone, give it up!! it was bad enough that vh1 brought back scott baio, and the corey's are making a comeback. but a washed up coke head of an american idol contestant? barely famous. never even heard of until the show, and i am sure everyone had to catch the re-run of the first episode to find out who the hell she was! to all these attention whores trying to get back their career, there is a better way than on celebrity rehab! being a coke head or an alcoholic butt slut is hardly a way to gain any sort of reputation that an agent is going to want to pick up. sorry drug addicts, get a new habit!!
'NATAL' give it up man your probably just an orderly in a clinic anyways. The man has more degrees and experience with addicts than everyone who's commented here combined. He probably doesn't direct everyone to AA or NA or whatever version of the 12 steps their apt to because its all religion based and he's keepin it neutral. Besides it doesn't matter if their A-list celebs or Z-list, thats just what the show needs to get on TV, the point is showing people what addiction looks like . Dr. Drew is a good doctor and we need people like him to get out there and show everyone 'real' medical science, not the shite that's spewed by Dr. Phil, Dr. Oz and whatever other media-loving quacks are out there.
