The chance of picking up a sexually transmitted disease is what's wrong!!
According to a new report in Time magazine, the rates of STDs amongst seniors is on the rise.
Viagra and online dating are listed as reasons why there's a lot more sexy time going on for the old folks.
That's great and all, but researchers at England's West Midlands Health Protection Agency found that in less than a decade, STD rates had more than doubled among people ages 45 and older.
The author of the study, thinks that figure may be low, "These observations are based on a small proportion of people who actually attend clinics."
The doc went on to say that middle-aged and older people tend to delay visiting a doctor for treatment of an STD, or avoid it altogether, in large part due to the stigma associated with sexually transmitted infections.
STD's aren't ageists!

I took a class about marriage and family, and this topic came up. STD's among seniors are also rising due to the fact that when they were younger, abstinence was preached rather than using safe sex. The lack of knowledge about safe sex and condoms is partly due to the rise.
On a side note, to those who are saying that McCain doesn't use a teleprompter and speaks from the head, it shows. News reports are saying that he has hired aides to help him with his speaking and delivery skills. Obama is a natural speaker and doesn't need people to help him. But if that's the reason why you're not voting for him, then you need to do more research. Stop relying on silly excuses as a crutch to say "I'm not voting for them" and learn the facts, then make your decision.

So, it isn't that seniors are getting all the std's. what is happening is that the senior generation didn't have to worry about std's when they were younger, so less of them have them as adults. the numbers of seniors getting std's is "doubling" because it's going from nearly zero to say, 200, per year. the statistics seem mind boggling if you don't look at all the facts. seniors are not the problem in spreading std's, the youth of america is.
