Wasting No Time

A Hollywoodland production company has teamed up with major Colombian players to bring the "Colombian hostage rescue" to the big screen.

Vertigo Entertainment has struck a deal with a Colombian television network and production outfit RCN to tell the the story of last week's dramatic rescue of former Colombian presidential candidate Ingrid Betancourt, 3 Americans and 11 other hostages from the hands of rebel group FARC, who kidnapped them.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, while many in LaLaLand were vying for the rights to the dramatic story, Vertigo had the inside track on securing the rights due to the company's relationship with RCN.

Vertigo worked with RCN to secure remake rights to the Colombian film Al Final del Espectro, and has set up the project at Universal with the working title At the End of the Spectra.

Sidenote: Vertigo is also behind one of the summer's scariest flicks, The Strangers.

We wonder who'll be cast as Ingrid.

Ingrid will be played by Jennifer Maniston in a sure to be Oscar nominated role. Her diverse acting talent have thus far been ignored by the Academy. Lindsey Hohan will get the part of Ingrid's friend that got pregnant by a rebel soldier and gave birth in captivity. The baby will be played by the other Man in Hollywood, Samantha Ronson. Perez, I think there is a role for you as the Columbian President.

They have to choose an actress who speaks Spanish and French…! Maybe Salma Hayek (she is married with Pinault, a French business man, so maybe she speaks French a little bit). They can also choose Eva Longoria who speak Spanish and a little bit French but she is too young.

next thing you know, the Entertainment groups will be following people on the story as it happens. Please, we know Jolie will want the script, just don't give it to 'them'.
