We Have A Name!

Finally!

What did Matthew McConogay name his newborn son???

His name is….

Levi Alves McConaughey.

Mateo explains's the name's significance, saying, "Levi was another name for the apostle Matthew in The Bible. They were, in fact, two names for the same person. Our son was born at 6:22 pm, and this particular time represents my favorite verse in the book of Matthew in The Bible: 'If thy eye be single, thy whole body will be full of light.'"

Baby Levi's middle name is taken directly from his mother Camila's last name. "We wanted to incorporate her family name," explains the proud new father.

To all the well-wishers and fans, Matthew and Camila have also released the following statement:

"We welcome Levi Alves McConaughey into this wonderful life and look forward to living in it with him. In the mean time and all times, just keep livin'."

    Biblical names are always classic and I like that they honored a family name for the middle name. This is the way we named our children too.

    Call me old fashion but, what happened to Robert, Cindy, John etc. Levi, sounds like Levis which I would not have past by him that he would name the baby that. My godness mom has a lot of names! I am hispanic yet do not have as many names.

    It can be pronounced 2 ways either phonetically "Lee'vie" like the brand named jeans (more common pronunciation) or "le'vee" (like the levees that break during a water emergency) which is the actual biblical pronunciation.

    I think Sara Gilbert's son is named Levi as well. I am surprised they went with a such a biblical name; they didn't seem the type. Hebrew names are becoming such a huge Hollywood trend.

    I think he wanted to name him something else like Levis or Jose Cuervo or something that is why it took so long to release the name, she probably made him change his mind, cause he mentions a passage that is where he chose the name since the baby was born at that time.
