Catching Up With Jamie Lynn

jamielynn.jpg

Jamie Lynn Spears, 17 years old, is speaking out for the first time since giving birth to daughter Maddie Briann last mont, in the new issue of OK!.

On life in Louisiana:
"Around here, everyone has the same focus. The focus is family, and that's a good way to live."

On her pregnancy:
"They'd told me it would be an eight- to 12-hour labor, and I was ready to have the baby in three to four hours. I had a perfect pregnancy and a perfect delivery. I was very blessed."

On the delivery:
"Once I got in there, my doctor was just so calm and so good it was not bad at all. I was just talking to Casey. And you know what's so weird? I was asking him if he was okay. He was like, 'Yeah.' We were both so excited."

On little Maddie:
"She is very good. She'll feed every two or three hours. When she wakes up in the middle of the night, I'll feed her and she goes right back to sleep. There's no screaming and crying. We get up in the morning, and she gets her little bath. Then I get my bath. We have a routine, and I love routines. I've worked one out with her, and we're happy going about our little life."

so…i've been chewing on this one the WHOLE entire day bc i am that pissed off. Shit like this does nothing but glamorize motherhood to idiot little clueless girls who think that having a baby is just like having a teacup yorkie: just another accessory to have. Having a baby is THE HARDEST FUCKING JOB OUT THERE! I am 30 years old and waited 5 years after being married b4 having my baby…and let me tell you something, its been hard …..totally satisfactory,,,,but hard. It is a life time committment to both your husband and child!

For those of you who believe this crap story, know this from a REAL mom:MOST mothers have a REAL job to work at while pregnant and don't have the luxury of laying around like useless slobs…MOST mothers suffer through hours of painful labor in order to birth their babies…maybe that's why they care more about their children. MOST babies will not get on a schedule for at least 4-5 months or sleep through the night. Babies don't just adjust to schedules, or sleep on command. MOST people can't afford to have nannies who will tend to those babies so their mothers can get a full night's sleep. MOST baby daddies will not stick around and play house with their teenage baby mommas and live happily ever after. So to all of you silly little girls who are thinking of skipping your birth control in order to play house a la Jaime Lynn Spears, just remember that she'll probably end up a single parent wreck just like her sister……I only feel bad for those poor little children that didn't ask to be born in to the middle of the media circus….

Re: janet – Gee Janet I ranted and raved so I can get your nasty welfare ass to respond. Sounds like you have been down this road with having illegitimate children. I don't exactly see you talking about you making something of yourself. You made a choice to spread your legs and sleep with the loser. Now he isn't around and I bet the government is supporting your lazy ass.

I'm on welfare now? Do you even have one ounce worth of brain matter in that head of yours or is that asking for too much? You are so damn stupid, I wonder how you even made it to "adulthood".. but you are still acting like a child, so I guess I'm asking for too much in intelligent conversation with a retard.

You are one lame brain If I've ever heard one. You are so damn stupid, I don't even know WHY I bother responding to a mentalcase who's had a botched lobotomy. But that's ok, a woman like you is not only a failure in life, but also in keeping her men happy! HAHA! At least as a "whore" I can keep my man happy! :) )))))))) Doesn't say much for you now does it? AW, don't worry… it's ok to be OLD A N D ALONE!

I just hope teenagers of this country won't read this article and think it is cool to be a mom so young. She'll be fine because she's got $$$ but havinga baby so young just screws any future you wanted to have. What an irresponsible girl.

    21. 2433 says – reply to this

      321

Yes most teenagers are irresponsible.. is that some epiphany for you? I hate to be the one to break it to you, but irresponsibility and a high level of hormones is kinda prevalent in childhood! What a shocker, right? Afterall, I'd expect "KIDS" to know better than adults! LOL The same irresponsible sexual behavior exists with older women in their 20s and 30s as well. You just don't know about it cause they conceal it through abortion or whatnot. Did I really have to explain this to you? Blame Bush for the lack of sex ed classes in this country.. it's all about "abstinence".

      331

dom, my point from the start was that OK was glamorizing the situation and that JLS was just added to it. That everything turned out perfect. The media is just a machine generating lies. It bothers me not be cause of a supposed self esteem issue you think I have (and you obviously don't have any of your own children) but because I just though that she might have a been a little more conscious of the readership out there and maybe decided to use her celebrity in order to use it as a forum for speaking out on something a little more important than fluff. I don't care - she could have mentioned hemroids for all I care. But in life, especially with children there is no such things as everything going according to a perfect plan. I know plenty of people who have children early and some would think I myself am one even though I waited until after I finished college to have them so I guess thats already old to all the high schoolers out there who just can't wait. And don't forget for hundreds of years people also didn't make it past their 40s so it didn't really matter how they were raised, they also had to work their children in the fields and factories for pennies a month, and nobody was vaccinated because they didn't exist. I would dare say that you can't make a comparison for parenting now and parenting then. P.s I'm sorry your family is a bunch of mooches.

      334

ANd we wonder why the rest of the world looks down on America? Because we glorify little white cracker sluts having babies when they should be planning to go to college!!! We're so hung up here in America about talking to kids about sex, so is it any wonder we have the highest teen pregnancy rate in the Western world???

I wish these magazines would stop glorifying JamieLynne, like she's such an amazing person for getting knocked up at 16. There's nothing proud or "cool" about it. This is a new trend - only a generation or two ago it was very shameful (and rightfully so) for a teenager to get pregnant. My mother-in-law got pregnant with my husband when she was 18 and was forced into a bad marriage because of it. Sadly the Spears clan does not seem to learn from its mistakes and Maddie will prolly be popping kids out by the time she's in junior high. Very sad.

    35. Snick says – reply to this

      335

And another thing… my husband's cousin (whose name is coincidentally enough, Jamie) had everything going for her at 17. She was an honors student in high school, had a scholarship and had it all going for her but then she decided it'd be cool to let some black trash dude knock her up. Now she lives in Houston, barely scrapes by above the poverty level, works a dead-end job, has no support from her 7-year-old son's dad OR the father of the baby she is pregnant with now.

    36. Bambi says – reply to this

      336

Just because she is Britney's little sister does not make it ok to be knocked up at age 16. Furthermore, her family has the money for nanny's and sitters, I am so sick of how the media is portraying this as an okay thing to do! It is not ok! If she was a normal teen and not an overpayed hick she would be so screwed!

Re: KB – You are complete and utter dumbass. I'm 21, have a 5 month old baby boy, and I'm unmarried. Where the hell does it say anywhere that you have to or need to be married to have a baby and raise it? And before you say something you're gonna look stupid for because you have no idea what you would even be saying, like Jamie Lynn, I'm with the father of my child and we're engaged. Me and my fiance' have been since way before the baby was even conceived. And I'm sorry, do I agree having a baby at such a young age is the best thing, not really. But there are pros to it, your closer in age so you can semi-relate to things going on in the child's life, and to be honest, I've seen teen moms that are better than moms in their 30's. And most treat their kids better too. I don't care about going out and party, or any of that bs, because I have a little boy now, and he is my life. I would give anything in this world for anything he needed/wanted. And how dare you make judgments against this girl or this magizine when you don't know the first damn thing about them or their situation. What should Jamie Lynn hide in a Nunnary forever because she did something YOU didn't agree with? No. Let her live her life, and mind your own business. Your not God, you have NO right to judge!

you're right dom, my point was never to talk about parenting and it hasn't been this whole time. my point has been the instead of JLS submitting something that her publicist wrote to OK and pass it off as an interview, she could have elaborated on her own experience and maybe offer up some advice that might help teenage mothers who don't have a lot of money. And speaking of judgmental, just from my comment that I waited after college you were able to assume how old I was when i went, how long i attended and how long I waited afterwards to start having kids. good job.

      356

You yourself said that you finished college first but that it would still be considered "old" to some high schooler, inferring that you were still young at the time and likely not that much out of college.
Now what did I say about having kids? I didn't say anything either way; you just made that one completely up.
As for the article, the answers were likely planned out with mommy before introduced. Don't you think?
Let's blame who needs to be blamed: the parents! Lynn let her child have free reign like an adult even though she wasn't one. She allowed her kid to have a boyfriend at 15 and then LIVE WITH HIM without any specifics about birth control. If you are going to allow this and be an absent parent, wouldn't you at least have your daughter on birth control pills? I don't think birth control is discussed indepth in schools these days; just abstinence. And at that time, she probably didn't go to a typical school. The mother also allowed britney to tour alone at 17 and such with just an assistant. She was there for the handout, but not much as a mother figure I really believe. Ok, maybe that is too presumptuous, but look at how her children turned out!

    57. dom says – reply to this

      357

ALso, terrific for you in waiting til after college to have kids! WOW! Such an arduous task!!! No, I'm just kidding, but mistakes happen and people have to live with the decision either way. Calling a child a "whore" and wanting to SPIT on a CHILD is wrong. I know you didn't say these things, but I've heard it on this thread and thats child abuse.

I am so sick of jamie lynn
through out her entire pregnancy the magazines and even jamie lynn have been glamorizing teen pregnancy
except for the quote she released with ok! when she first announced her pregnancy (the one about how she thinks people should wait) the entire situation has been glamorized
there have been reports how she settling in great in louisiana, she is engaged, they bought an amazing house and how she is completely happy
      personally i am disgusted
in "real life" could never happen to a girl who got pregnant so young
i am even more upset at ok!
i am shocked that they put the quote "Being a mom is the best feeling in the world!" on the cover
      how irresponsible
this gives teenage girls completely the wrong message
THINGS WILL NEVER WORK OUT FOR THEM LIKE THEY DID FOR JAMIE LYNN!!!!

OKAY for all those rude comments abotu ehr hair, STOP BEING STUPID ITS OBVIOUSLY BLONDE. Thats what you pay big bucks for, not some orange yellow you epople call blonde. Anyways, I do not agree with what she is doing. Having a baby is not all hunky dory like shes making it out to be. Yes shes cute and cuddly and small and all you want to do is protect her, but waiit that baby will grow up, and she wont be saying all these "cute little" things anymore. On the other hand, if i found out im pregnant, and had a religious family, UHM id be in the same boat. And to MIK she delivered naturally. Im proud of Jamie-Lynn, but dissapointed inwhat shes feeding to the younger people who idolize her.

it may be all fun and games in the beginning wait until she sees that it gets harder as they get older. Her routine will not work then. I think she rushed to keep Casey but will see that having a kid only makes more work and less time for eachother. She should have been shopping at the mall instead of getting pregnant. What happened to teens being teens. what is this world coming to. No wonder all the kids growing up are brats with no discipline and parents who let them walk all over them. Licenses should be required to have kids. take protection people! no wonder diseases are on the rise. If some one loves u they will really wait. What guys do u know who actually stay with there 1st love. C'mon get real. The daddy looks like a real winner.

cute baby, bad hair. trying to make her appear older isn't going to trick everyone into thinking she is older. hope she does a better job at this than her sister-yeesh.

okay 1. Baby looks TOTALLY cute! 2. What's with the gray hair color? Has she ALREADY become a grandmother? 3. She is ENCOURAGING TEEN PREGNANCY!!!!!! Soon the nation is going to be swept up with little girls getting pregnant and STDs because they want to be "Just like Zoey". She shouldn't have had unprotected sex in the first place!!!! If Casey had put on a condom EVERYTHING would have been different! But at least their baby girl is cute! Jamie has made me not want to have sex until i'm married ’cause just my luck i would probably get pregnant T-T

This article is bs!!! This article is promoting teen pregnancy and how "perfect" she says it is may make girls want to become pregnant. As for having a "routine" thats bs. "We get up in the morning and she gets her little bath" bs, your not suppose to bathe a baby every day it dries out their skin. I could talk so much more crap on this horriable article but wont waste anymore time.

I think people are to accepting of Jamie becoming a teenage mom.She has
these young girls looking up to her from her television show and now that she's
a teenage mother and the media has been so happy about it and even
giving her a lump sum of money for pictures of her ugly baby. The girl's
who look up to her are gonna think it's cool for them to do the same.I know
the baby is here now but I feel Jamie should of used her teenage pregnancy
to tell other teenagers it's not the right thing to do.Instead she glorified it.
She should of been kicked off of Disney.First Britney now Jamie,I think
the egg donor they call mom did a poor ass job raising them and she
failed at showing them how a woman should carry herself. To her they are
only baby making dollar signs and her grand kids are her real pay day.
"Birds of a feather flock together",so why isn't she hanging with Donna Lohan?
