Mr. Madonna Scored Big Time

As we've mentioned before, Guy Ritchie is set to direct Warner Brothers' new Sherlock Holmes flick.

Well, it was just announced that Guy and team have landed one of the biggest stars in Hollywood at the moment for the title role — Robert Downey, Jr.

Way to go, Guy!

Industry rag Variety says Downey committed to the pic, which begins shooting in October, after Ritchie turned in a polish of the latest version of the script.

Like Iron Man, Sherlock Holmes will reportedly take advantage of his physical skills.

Downey's Sherlock will be rough and tumble AND super smart.

Variety also mentions that the Ritchie-helmed Sherlock will go into production before a rival studio's Sherlock Holmes comedy, starring Sacha Baron Cohen and Will Ferrell.

Oohhh. A battle of the Sherlocks is upon us!

We'll probably see both!

    First of all, the sounds of that movie suck. Why would anyone remake a classic, that was well received, wouldn't you want to leave it alone? Or create something NEW? Second, Guy Richie is a loser, gay dork. He married Madonna cause he thought he would create a name for himself, which he did amongst the tools of Hollywood, and he could 'direct' more Hollywood films, which I guess he has. But Hollywood films are so f uc king predicdable, and stupid these days because they are formuleic - hollywood actor + big budget. To me, that equals, well, a flop. Who wants to see Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt, Robert Downey whatever his name is, Julia Roberts??? They are all gay, full of botox and themselves, insecure, egotistical LOOSERS. Wouldn't you want to see someone who can REALLY act as opposed to the Ashton Kutchers of the world? Ha.

    Hmmmmm…this shall be brilliant! I've heard the movie will be more like the "original" Sherlock Holms from the first book ever written about the character…who ironically in the storie, was a druggie. Apparently it will be dark. Now Guy has a brilliant visual perspective on film…each frame is like art….just like his wife (quite picking on her!)…and with Downey as Sherlock! Again….hmmmm this shall be Brilliant!
