      Did you even read the article? They aren't fucked up. You just have to do one final installation at home on your own computer. The phone isn't ready as soon as you leave the store. No biggie.

      Apple is having trouble with the activation servers. There's nothing wrong with the phones. Many of us with 1st gen phonesare still trying to get through. Just passing on the info.

      This SAME EXACT THING happened last year when I got the first generation. It's no big deal it took 24 hours to activate because SO MANY people were trying to get on itunes it was crashing.

      There is nothing wrong with them so don't let this discourage anyone from getting one. I LOVE MINE!!! it's the most amazing thing ever!! I can't wait for it to die so I can get the new generation…lol.

      The phone is fine; iTunes just couldn't handle the overwhelming demand and the server crashed for a few hours. But my phone is activated, up, and running. and it's AMAZING.

      Try resetting it. Its happened to me a few times where I was getting texts a day after they were sent. Take out the battery and SIM then reboot it. Should work no problem.

      I LOVE my BlackBerry Curve. I got the last iPhone the day it came out. It may be cool looking but its now sitting in my cell phone graveyard because it didnt actually DO anything. The BB just does SO MUCH MORE.

      I can't see what the big deal is about this phone, especially for the price. What all does this phone do? Play music, take pics, surf the web (with the right carrier); all I need my phone to do is make a phone call. Who would want to surf the web looking a a 3 or 4 inch screen? That's what computers are for. Anyway don't most phones do this stuff anyway? What's so great about this one? I MIGHT buy an old one on Ebay to check it out to see what all the hoopla is about. Also, maybe someone can tell me what's so different about this one and the old one?

      My roommate works for apple's customer service center here in Sac Ca. He called me and said that the servers were all clogged up because the entire nation was trying to update and upload and activate all of the new iphones at the sametime. That's crazy. No matter how big your server is something like this can mess it up. To much activity at one time, crazyness. There are more the 2,500 calls on hold waiting to get help at his center alone. That's why I have Verizon. AT&T users, CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW!!!

      The phones are not fucked up. They had problems with the activation process. They had those problems last year also. My phone worked just fine after it was activated. When ever you try to activate this many phones on one day there is going to be a problem of some kind or another. What is your problem, making seem like the phones are bad!

Apple has been, and always will be, the leader in the industry. Their products are far superior to the rest out there which is why they have such a huge following. Apple devotees are an elite bunch who know what they want and Apple always delivers.

      I love how a ton of you are accusing Perez of not reading the article he posted from TNYT. More so I can't believe I'm about to defend fatty fatty 2 by 4.

      Anyway, the entire thing *is* one HUGE cluster fuck and I would stay away from this phone for a solid week. Didn't Apple/AT&T learn ANYTHING from their fiasco last year? Dumping old customer activations and new activations of the same fucking day was really stupid. It's a GLOBAL problem. So in essence, the new iPhone is indeed FUCKED. That said, I can't wait to get mine.

      The iPhones have no problems what-so-ever, it was AT&T's server that crashed. They were not prepared for the overwhelming amount of activations at the same time. The system went back up in about 2 hours and everything is working fine now! I actually got one this afternoon @ Aventura mall in Miami! Love it!!!

      I have a 1st generation Iphone and it's a total piece of shit. It frigging crashes. The signal sucks. It's like making a god damned phone call in 1993 with all the dropped calls. AT&T sucks, the Iphone isn't the best thing since sliced bread. Verizon had better coverage and my $70 Samsung was bombproof.

      The only good thing about the Iphone/AT&T combo is the plan I have with unlimited data. That's good when it's working.

      i was really close to getting one. i didn't get it. the reason why was because there was no insurance on it so my dad said no. i got a blackberry pearl instead and i love it. i have an itouch so that's the closest i'll get to an iphone.
