My guess is that maybe Billy Corgan was supposed to play for Frances' sweet sixteen and backed out. That quite possibly My Chemical Romance is friends with Courtney and Frances and they had wanted to play, and have acted as a back up. That is what I got out of it.

Re: laura – Billy and her used to be an item in the late 80's (I think? I'm not certain but pretty sure..), before she ever met Kurt Cobain and they remained friends since the breakup. By the way, Kurt Cobain HATED Billy Corgan, but that's another story. Billy also helped produce (and did a GREAT JOB) Hole's 1998 album, Celebrity Skin.
