TOTALLY Pulling a Michael Jordan!

Looks like ESPN was right!
According to a new report, Brett Favre's un-retiring and wants out of the contract that binds him to the Green Bay Packers.
Will the Cheese Heads go nuts if he un-retires to another team?
Un-retiring seems so lame.
Green Bay doesn't want Brett back, wisely, so he wants out of his contractual obligations.
Will any other team hire Favre???
Why not go out in top form, on your own terms?

FIRST! WOO WOO! THERE ARE WAY TOO MANY FOREIGNERS IN THE WORLD. THAT IS WHAT I HAVE TO SAY.
first!!!
That is so sad. He is ruining his opportunity for future earning opportunities — He is a legend now. He will end up being a hasbeen tied to a not so successful franchaise. His legacy as a Packer will provide him so much more endorsement opportunities than if he played another year or two for another team and maybe wasn't as successful.
furst
first!
stay a cheesehead!
Re: INGY – Seriously, the stupiest thing I've heard in a long time. You're a foreigner in the world if you're not in your home country moron. … Unless you were talking about band members from the group Foreigner and I don't think there is that many of them.
First!!
Well that is kind of the point. He wasn't retiring on his own terms. The Packers don't want him playing for someone else but they wanted him to retire and he did it for the "good of the team" as they put it. But he didn't really want to.
I hate it when people do this, it makes it seem like they just played us (so to speak) and used us for somekind of publicity stunt or something! I just find it annoying, and I never watch that person play again! But I am sure they do not care.
He was sooooo….talented! What if he can't live up to his former glory?? Quit while you're ahead dude!
he needs beard dye
In Brett's defense, he asked the Packers to make several changes last year, including going after some high profile rookies and vets alike that had free agent status, and they didn't work with him.
We all need to take a break from time to time, Perez. I for one would be happy to see Brett come back and go to a team that would value him for more than his ability to put butts in high priced stadium seats…
Welcome back, Brett. I'm not even a packers fan, but I do respect the men that can play the game like you do.
FAVRE SUCKS!
being a bears fan, im happy for him. the packers aint nothing without him
thats sad
Of course the Chesse Heads will go crazy!!!!
Rumor is he is going to the ravens
Come to Minnesota Brett! jk but yeah he's dumb for not retiring and especially not going back to Green Bay (this is coming from a Vikings fan) Wisconsin worships Brett.
old news… its been rumored that the dolphins might be interested in him
shuddup fag, like you know anything about football. The only reason you know who Favre is, is because you like staring at his ass in those tight football pants and you dream of him at night, rubbing his stubble beard across your greasy, fat belly…
Brett Favre was a GREAT player and Green Bay will always love him. But seriously, he needs to find a hobby or a charity or something to occupy himself. Why risk injury and/or embarrassment?
Come to Philly, Brett! We'll show you a warm welcome. Maybe we can get rid of Donovan now. Woo Hoo! Go Birds!
Re: Kate – NO, I MEANT FOREIGNERS ARE IN PEOPLE NOT BORN IN THE UNITED STATES. THEY ARE ALWAYS BEGGING ME FOR MONEY WHEN I WALK AROUND DOWNTOWN. I WOULD LIKE TO KICK THEM BUT I DON'T WANT TO GET IN TROUBLE.
First- He did not end on top because his last pass was an interception…
He always looked out for the Packers. He thought it was his time to retire but is obviously having second thoughts. HE IS STILL A STUD and has plenty of years left in him. In fact he is stronger than most of the quaterbacks in the NFL.. If the Packers don't want him back it is their loss!!!
Re: Kate – What are you talking about? How will this ruin his chance of future endorsments? When you think if Jordan do you think of his time with the bulls or the last year that he played with Washington? The Bulls of course and he is doing just fine with his endorsments. Also when Joe Montana finished his career with the Chiefs of all teams did that tarnish his legacy? He is still looked at as top 5 quarterbacks of all time. It takes an ultra competitive person to play 17 seasons in the NFL and if he feels that he still has something to give a team to make them better, who are any of us to say that he shouldn't. Let's not forget that the Packers were 13-3 and very close to going to the superbowl last year. Had it not been for a couple of late ill timed throws the Packers could have been in the Super bowl. So obviously he still has some game.
I laugh at the people commenting on here that don't know dick about football. Favre had an MVP caliber season last year. If he can play, he should.
I'm a EAGLES fan but….I wish him well. Hell, if he thinks he has more fire…then why not. I mean it's his career and legacy that will be tainted…who are we to judge. Perhaps…he's pissed that after all he did for Green Bay they haven't really had his back the past few years….maybe that's enough fuel to light his fire and make the Packers regret. That would make me pissed enough to find my way to the Superbowl. Or maybe he retired b/c he felt what everyone else felt…that GB didn't want him around and that was his way to let them off the hook…I dunno. We'll see! Is perez a fb fan?
Fuck off Perez. You don't know shit about football. And let Favre play. Packers are IDIOTS to not take him back. I hope he comes back and wins a superbowl. I will root for whatever team he plays for.
Re: mark – Right now, he is so bankable for endorsements. He has done no wrong. What happens if he goes somewhere else and struggles and it seems like he was just trying to hang on to a dying career? You are right about Jordan, and I suppose he could overcome some disappointment. He just seems so perfect to me right now.
I'm a Cheesehead and I don't give a rat's ass about Brett Favre. People, stop obsessing over him and get a life.
EAGGGGGGGGGGGLES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Brett Favre claims that for years now he's felt like the Packers didn't want him back but maybe they just didn't want him crying after every season and saying that he wanted to retire. I think that he has another good season in him but he waited too long into this to say he wanted to come back. He should have said something before the NFL draft; the Packers based their draft according to Aaron Rodgers and right now everything is set up for Rodgers to be this years QB. I guess it wouldn't have been such a big deal if Brett hadn't gotten infront of everyone cried his eyes out and say that he couldn't do it anymore. He said he didn't want to do all the work so what is he complaining about now?
Everyone is Green Bay adore Favre trust me! When he retired there were the signs, and song dedications on the radio but maybe it is time for a new QB. Favre isn't going to play forever and maybe its times we gave Aaron Rodgers a shot instead of screaming how much he sucks when he plays a quarter of a pre-season game. Rodgers is no Favre but it is time for him to have his shot, he was in fact a first round pick so he has to have something.
Re: INGY – You're kidding right. How do you know they are foreigners? Because they speak Spanish or another language? Being homeless is a serious problem in this country and the majority of homeless in this country are Americans, not foreigners.
STICK TO CELEBRITY GOSSIP - ATHLETICS OBVIOUSLY ISN'T ANY OF YOUR CUPS OF TEAS! HE NEVER OFFICIALLY WENT INTO RETIREMENT IN THE FIRST PLACE, HENCE HE IS STILL ON THE ROSTER WHICH IS WHY HE HAD TO ASK TO BE RELEASED! HE HAS 3 YEARS AND $39 MILLION DOLLARS LEFT! YOU GUYS ARE SO CUTE.
I live in Wisconsin, in all it's (un)glory. All I have to say is this — when they interrupt my soaps with *breaking news* and it is about some sports asshole, I wish I was still in San Diego…
fatty fatty 2 by 4, you can't get thru, the kitchen door. heh
I heart Brett Favre and hope he will play with the team HE chooses! I'm a FAVRE FAN FOR LIFE!
Perex- This post shows that you do not know shit about football and should not post on it. I'd bet you read an article that bad mouthed Favre, and since you are simple-minded it convinced you he must be wrong. Douchebag…
I'm from Wisconsin, so I'll write this comment how most of the people here talk.
"OH CRIPES, HEY! DID YA HEAR DAT BRETT AIN'T GONNA PLAY FOR DA PACKERS NO MORE?? DAT AIN'T RIGHT! Come 'ere once and we'll go get a couple two-tree beers to drink da sorrow away."
you sure follow a lot of sports for a flaming ho… well, you know.
BRETT FAVRE is a god!.. If Green Bay doesn't want him back.. they are NUTS!! He was so close to a superbowl champion last season.. if he comes back to Green Bay… I'll bet my life savings they will pull out a win!
MORE HEART THAN ANY PLAYER IN THE GAME!!!!!!!!!!!
THIS HAS BEEN A DAY CHICAGO HAS BEEN WAITING FOR FOR YEARS! A CHANCE AT A DECENT QUARTERBACK FOR A CHANGE. GO TO THE BLUE & ORANGE FARVE!
GO BEARS!
I bet 50 bucks that someone will try to burn his house down. Packers fans are insane! I live in Wisconsin, it's ridiculous.
WHAT????? You mean after all of that slobbering and crying he isn't retiring after all? Sorry guys but a few tears is fine but when i saw his press conference i lost respect for the cry baby! He left FOOTBALL HE DIDN'T LOSE A CHILD FOR GOD SAKE!
um, perez, you obviously don't know anything about sports because there is nothing wise about not taking Brett Favre as your quarterback. He led his team to the NFC championships last year, is a legend, and is one of the most likable figures in sports.
I REALLY THINK HE IS A BIT CRAZY—DID YOU SEE THAT PRESS CONFERENCE WHEN HE RETIRED—OMG—HE WAS SO OUT OF CONTROL I THOUGHT THE MEN IN WHITE WERE GOING TO COME AN PUT A STRAIGHT JACKET ON HIM AND HAUL HIS SORRY ASS AWAY—-NOW WHAT DO I DO WITH ALL OF MY SI MAGS.??????
Wisconsin loves Brett. This is a very stressful time for Packers fans, as silly as that sounds. It's hard to fathom him playing for any other team… he's been the heart of Green Bay for such a long time. I need to go lie down.
Um yes - the Cheeseheads will go crazy if he plays for another team. Please don't do that Brett!
eww he better not……
I think it would be stupid for him to go play for another team. right now, he is a legend. it would really make him hated by some of the most die hard football fans around. whoever said somebody would burn his house down is right.
favre will be back and he'll be on the PACKERS they'll say he'll be a back up for aaron rodgers but he'll play….he's a LEGEND how could they not play him
I'm a Bears fan and as much as I want to, I can't hate the guy. Only Packer I've ever respected! The rest of the team can suck it though! In all honesty, I think he really should just cakk it a day. He's accomplished more in his career than any other QB in history, he holds damn near every record there is at his position, etc.. He's has nothing to prove. I'd hate to see him remembered as a player who stuck sround too long, not to mention he's not exactly young anymore and I'd rather see him bow out instead of being carried out on a stretcher….granted he's a tough sum bitch, but still.
This man needs to get a hobby and stay out of football. He's going to mess around until her gets REALLY hurt. Doesn't he have a wife and kids? Why oh why can't these people stay returned when they leave the game near the top?
Re: The D – Totally agree with you.
.
But I think it's a rumor. I'm pretty sure he's done for good.
.
And if he did want to play some more, it would be insane for the Packers not to take him back. The public owns the Packers, and the fans just wouldn't have that.
.
And the guy just loves to play football! He doesn't do it for any other reason, except for the love of the game! And who is anyone to tell him that he can't play anymore?
The great thing about this is that we will get to see him once again cry and blubber like a little girl when he decides to retire yet again. Sorry but the dude is over-rated. He blew it in the playoffs last year throwing dumb passes for interceptions. And anyway, how can it be described as coming out of retirement when he never filed papers and did not even miss a day of practice yet?
Why not go out in top form, on your own terms?
Because He's a fucking HICK from French Lick.
D>>>U>>>M>>>B…A…s…s
ahhh ya come back brett!! his last season was one of the best
He's had problems with his wife (Deanna) in the past and he knows that if he goes into retirement, he'll just get bored and frustrated and start beating her again. He's just like every other guy insofar as he wishes he had never gotten married.
Hmm…it would suck if he decided to play for another team.
After 13 years of service Green Bay should have welcomed him back with open arms. If Favre is going to play it should be for the Packers, and the team should have supported him. GB can kiss Super Bowl hopes goodbye without him. I don't know if a team that doesn't allow Farve to return, after he has devoted his career to them, is a team I can support. But please Brett, just don't go to Minnesota!
I've lived in Wisconsin all my life (although I usually don't refer to myself as a cheesehead) and I would love to see Brett come back for another season or two. He left for perfectly valid reasons. With Deanna's cancer and his girls having to flip from home to home, he probably thought he was doing what was best for his family. It seems to me, he's had some time to think things through and talk them over with the wife and kids and has had a change of heart. Can't begrudge him that.
I'd hate to see him play for another team, but honestly, I'd be a Bears fan if he moved there and a Vikings fan if he moved there. When Reggie White moved on, he didn't bring his fans with him… but Brett would. He's a God!
OK THAT PIECE OF SHIT DOES NOT NEED TO BE ON HERE! YOU DISAPOINT ME PEREZ!!!
they are talking about him coming to miami. it was on the news
"Green Bay doesn't want Brett back, wisely"
He lead them to a 14-2 record last year. Why is wise for them not to want him back. Try not to talk sports.
As a born and bred Cheesehead, I can safely say that there are a bunch of pissed off people in the state today. Ted Thompson isn't going to want to deal with Brett, not when Aaron Rodgers is in the last year of his contract and this is the first year he's been scheduled to start. Minnesota and Chicago and been drooling over the idea of signing Brett for years- if Brett wants to play badly enough, I have no doubt Minnesota and Chicago, who both have pretty forgettable QB's, are going to duke it out to see who can fork over the cash required to dress Brett in their team colors. And trust me- for any Wisconsin native to see a player like Brett wearing ANYTHING but green and gold- ESPECIALLY if those colors are purple or blue- it's basically a slap in the face. I really don't think true blue Packer fans are going to follow Brett if he switches teams. No way.
Brett is better than 90% of the nfl quarterbacks out there at his current age! GB would be stupid not to take him back….
I say go to Da' Bears!!
that'd be awesome
I live near Green Bay an
