TOTALLY Pulling a Michael Jordan!

bret__opt1.jpg

Looks like ESPN was right!

According to a new report, Brett Favre's un-retiring and wants out of the contract that binds him to the Green Bay Packers.

Will the Cheese Heads go nuts if he un-retires to another team?

Un-retiring seems so lame.

Green Bay doesn't want Brett back, wisely, so he wants out of his contractual obligations.

Will any other team hire Favre???

Why not go out in top form, on your own terms?

aaron rodgers a better QB than brett favre? please. i'm so sick of the packers making statements about how they're going to "do what's best for the team". i have watched every packer game in the past 4 years, so did i happen to walk away from the tv when rodgers did ANYTHING to prove that he's worth jack shit?

if thompson truly believes keeping rodgers & letting go of brett is the "best thing", why would they care where he goes? why so horrified by the idea of him going to a rival team? i mean…if they're keeping the BETTER QB in rodgers, what on earth do they have to be afraid about?

truth is…favre doesn't have many years left in him emotionally so why not set your egos down for a season or two (rodgers, thompson, & mccarthy) & give the guy some respect. it isn't like he's ever retired before & clearly he's indecisive…so how was he to know how he'd feel closer to september? besides, it isn't like that douchebag rodgers is going anywhere & if he is, good thing they drafted 2 more prospects.

they "wisely" don't want him back? he has been 18-4 his last 22 games…he was one game away from the super bowl…he had 28 touchdowns this year…being "wise" would be taking this man back. he is in the top 3 quarterbacks in the league right now, look at his numbers from last year perez before you pass judgment on letting a guy like favre go. not only will green bay be letting a legacy leave titletown–but they will also be letting a guy go who came off one of the best years of his entire career!!!

    3. 103

He should join the Vikings. Them pesky Packers are always throwin' to us anyway.

brett favre sucks, and no one wants him around anymore. he should retire under a rock and stay there until he dies.

Does he really want to piss off a state full of drunk cheeseheads (I can throw shade ’cause I'm one of them)!!?? NO loyalty man. No loyalty. Do what you want though. Kinda surprising you're over the packers?! WTF? You wouldn't be you without them. They wouldn't be who they are without you. Acknowledge that. Be grateful for the career you've had. Don't slap us in the face by playing for another team and forcing us to boo our former hero when you get on field.

Tired of all the drama. I live in Wisconsin and its been drama with Favre retiring/not retiring for a few years now. I am sick of it. I love him, but I am tired of the drama. I can't figure out who is being the big ass here, Farve or the Packers GM & management. What is the real story here? I want to see him play, but I can't stand this crap.

    12. 112

Its not as sad as you might think. He wants the starting QB job, and the Pack were placing him on the bench more often. The retirement was a ploy. See now that he's retired, the Packers must reinstate him to the ACTIVE roster, but they've already made their plans for the season. If they don't they MUST release him. What his agent's doing is just a courtesy and a way for the Packers to save face. If the dog's got more gas in the tank to make a season or two of final runs, let him! Jerry Rice had a couple really good seasons with the Raiders and Joe Montana had a few successful seasons with the Chiefs after both were dumped by the 49ers…let's see just how much gas Brett's got.

When you're as good at what you do as he is, unretiring is simply great news, not to mention how substantially he can fatten the retirement coffers. Buyers will get good bang for their buck, so no worries, all around for Favre, Management, and Fans. It's not only women that change their minds.

The man doesn't need the money, he could stay in retirement, under his contract and continue to collect a big check. He's a player, he's committed to the game, it's been his life since peewee league. It's tough to give up what you love, even when everyone else sees it as desperation or just a plain bad move.

As much as we love Brett Favre in Green Bay, and all the craziness surrounding the big question of whether he will play or not, I have to wonder why he would risk his health to try to play another year. He is 38 years old, and as great as he is, all it takes is one hard injury to end his career, and possibly his life. Why would he risk not only his future, but his families too? We love you Brett, but I would like to see you live a happy productive life doing something else…you've proved all there is in football.
