same thing happened with coldplay…for some reason, the houston date and few others were showing find tickets and then you were redirect to ticketsnow, this even before the real "on sale" date that the toyota center had scheduled on june 28. ticketsnow is sorta like stub hub, but the tickets that they offered were really pricey and the seats not that great and if you don't know what you are doing, looks like THOSE tickets on ticketnow are the only ones available. so far the only good tickets i could get through ticketmaster were the presale for madonna, only because i have a citicard.

I hate Ticketmaster. I wanted to take my kids to a Wiggle show and tickets were only available thru ticketmaster. They wanted $100 per ticket. For a freakin kids show! Forget that. The site kept redirecting me somewhere else too and I'm not about to go typing in my cc# all over the net.
From what I understand, many bands are aware of it and have stopped using ticketmaster altogether.
I have paid $45 for a ticket that was face valued $25. I think that is a bigger problem. Fuck those service charges, I am buying something online it should not cost them 20 dollars to process that, they'll even charge you $2 to create a PDF so you can print the tickets at home.

While I like the convenience of getting tickets online, when I was a kid I would camp outside of a record store all night to get concert tickets (and got grounded for it more times than I care to remember - but it was TOTALLY worth it). There was a never a "handling" or "convenience" fee. It's almost impossible to get tickets for anything anymore without using Ticketmaster. They really do suck!

Re: brad – all it take it takes is one to start the ball rolling, ticket master is crooked, theres two shows in regina that sold out in 4 minutes! ridiculous, there was 30 people waiting in the line at 10 am and some of them still didnt get tickets.
They did the same thing with the Dallas Jonas Brothers concert also, I went on ticketmaster to find a seat for my friend (I already had my tickets) and they were sold out, it automaticlly sent me to ticketsnow where they had over 60 tickets each over $300, for a lawn seat!
They did this for the Radiohead show in Toronto as well. One minute after the on sale time, I was linked to Tickets Now and they were selling tickets at 4 times the price. When I complained, the email I got back from Ticketmaster explicitly said that they OWNED Tickets Now. So the quote in the article from Ticketmaster's spokesperson is a blatant lie! I hate this company so much.

That guy def. lied. I've seen that tickets now link many times. There have been many different instances where that link has shown up, so how could they have not known it was there?
Ticketmaster is ridiculous! The prices are insane, and they give you bad seats. I got to use live nation instead of ticketmaster and i got waaay better seats than the people who used ticketmaster.
Same happened with Eddie Vedder's solo tour…wish he never caved to those bastards!
The exact same thing happened when I tried to buy tickets for the U.S. Open in August. Ticketmaster no longer had tickets, but send you to Tickets Now.

FYI EVERYONE. Ticket Master just bought TICKETSNOW and hey paid 245 mil for the company. That is why when you go TRY to get your tickets from TICKETMASTER it will take you to the Tickets Now site. BE CAREFUL. ITS A SCAM. A LEGAL ONE.. BUT A SCAM NON THE LESS.

As one of the people who live in Saskatoon and was online to purchase tickets right at 10am when they went on sale I can confirm this happened. It pissed me off. And not only did Tickemaster do that when I tried a 2nd time (the only 2 times I clicked on) it blocked me saying it did that to protect the site from those people with automatic thingys to buy tickets. Shit, I try for the ticket right as the clock strikes 10am. It is "searching" for about 7 mins (which I assume it is doing since the site is so busy) and then pops up those links to buy overinflated tickets from other sites.
Then I try again so I was only clicking to buy about twice in EIGHT minutes. The whole thing is a scam.
When Beyonce tickets went on sale here in S'toon last year I went right down to the site and was the 2nd person in line yet I could only get tickets in the side seats…nothing on the floor. Pathetic. That is why I choose to go online this time. The people at the ticket kiosk said that is where the majority of the tickets get bought so quickly. Uh…right.

Yeah thats wht happened to me. when i wanted to see jonas brothers coming to Florida in Sept. Ticketmaster Freakin Sucks Ass !!! and it sent me right to Ticket Now which was freakin expensive !!!!
Oh ticketmaster SUCKS!! They sold me tickets that weren't even tickets at the venue. Then they tried to switch my tickets without me knowing!! They told me the one seat they did give me was for grabs for someone inside ticketmaster so they didnt want to sell it. Well I had to deal with all kinds of crap and stay on the phone for 4 hrs until I got through with talking to everyone!!!! Finally I threated a lawyer and they gave me front row.

I found that article amusing. They may have taken down the link to tickets now for that concert, but it still exists for others. I find it really hard to believe that ticketmaster wasn't aware of this link, because they are partners with tickets.
I wish I didn't have to use ticketmaster, especially after what I went through trying to get Radiohead tickets. The concert sold out almost instantly, yet there were literally HUNDREDS of tickets available for 10 times their face value on sites such as Tickets Now and Stub Hub. This should not be allowed to happen. Something needs to change with Ticketmaster to make it more fair for customers, instead of allowing them to be gouged and taken advantage of.
the same thing happened to me when kathy griffin tickets went on sale in dallas. i was ready to buy when they went on sale. i couldn't get any orchestra tickets together. i was directed to tickets now where the $80 tickets were now $200. even though i love kathy, that is bullshit!
You now ticketmaster doesn't have anything thing to do with the inventory available for shows. The promoters are the ones that set the prices and they hold pretty much all the good seats for themselves (live nation does this to sell the best seats themselve like the person above said about getting better seats through live nation), the venue, for the Artist, for the media and problem orders. Live nation is a company that works with ticketmaster that have service charge bumps for the popular show because they know it will sell. also when you hear all this issue with the buying crappy seats for Jonas Brothers for example (when you buy them a soon as they go onsale), it's because live nation only opens so many seats at first and slowly releases more as the show gets closer..
Same thing happened in DC for the Eddie Vedder show. Its So frustrating. It's the biggest scam going. Tickermaster is a monopoly especially now since they own that piece of crap tickets now. Bet they have a piece of stub hub too. They should be investigated and ripped apart for ripping people off for years, I wish bands had more control, and could choose to not use them. What a corrupt industry. Makes me sick. I;m a huge music fan and love going to see shows - this crap really pissed me off and I can;t wait for something to stop TM! Rot in hell bastards…
They practically double ticket prices with all their bullshit fees. Why would they have both an order processing fee and a "convenience" fee? On top of that, they charge you to ship the ticket even if you print it out yourself.
So many tickets are spoken for before they even go on sale. Pearl Jam had it right when they unsuccessfully fought them a few years ago. Very few people supported them. It's a monopoly.
Yeah! They do suck! I tried to get a 4 pack for $69.50 and it came to $130! I was ;ike WTF??? They charged a "convenience fee" PER ticket AND an additional $4.50 PER ticket for parking! How do they know I didn't want to take the bus!? Or have my mom drive me!? So what that I'm 26! Would if no one knew how to drive! Ugh!
just went to tkmaster yesterday saturday to buy tix for the LA philhormonic and the link to the other site is still there, thos lying f'ers!. I went over to the link and the tix were better seats or "tempting" seating but for exagerated laughable prices.
They are doing this with Kathy Griffin tickets and they are still using the tickets now forward link so BS they don't know they are using it - I effing hate this crap ass website. I agree with everyone - death the ticketmaster.

The same thing happened to me when I tried to buy tickets to Eddie Vedder's solo show. SO frustrating! I ended up having to buy tickets on stubhub because Tickets Now were way more expensive. As if the ticketmaster "convenience fee" isn't enough, now this?!?! ridiculous!

Everyone complains about the convenience charges… oh they add on all this money… Ticketmaster is money hungry. WAKE UP people!! They only get a small portion of this charge. The general public doesn't get access to the good tickets b/c the promoters (a.k.a Live Nation, etc.) hold onto those tickets for their own use… like band member tickets, media, etc. The promoters also take the best seats and put them up for ticket auctions to get more money.
Ticketmaster is doing the same in Toronto, Canada.
I couldn't get tickets for Radiohead, Madonna, Coldplay, etc… Ticketmaster is screwing the public. Ebay is even listing the tickets for double and triple the ticket value.

Absolutely!!! I tried to get Madonna tickets and within minutes they were on ebay for triple the price… legalized scalping!!
