It is interesting to observe the effects enormous wealth and fame have had on the personality of a woman who herself admits to being driven and obsessed. The power that such wealth and fame brings allows her to have expectations of other people and to behave in ways towards them that would not be acceptable from a "normal" person. The unfortunate aspect of her diva status is it allows her to get away with it, so reinforcing her narcissistic tendencies. Each of the people involved in this scenario has an agenda. After reading this excerpt, the bitterness is obvious, but I do believe what her brother writes. Madonna's image has always been on a strong woman, but it is evident that her strength is that of a domineering personality, narcissistic, holier than thou attitude. She literally believes that she is the second coming of this religion. I also believe that her strong following of gay fans ( of which I am neither) will greatly suffer from the release of the book and will rightfully backlash against her. I think she has become nothing short of a despotic tyrant! I normally have no interest in such books, but I am strongly considering reading this book, if just out of watching from the interest that the maxim of absolute power corrupts absolutely. I never gave too much thought about Madonna as a person, but now I look at her as being the polar opposite of the wonderful person she believe she is. She is now the icon of everything that is negative about people who become. I hate to invoke Godwin's Law, but I believe that if anything, Madonna is the Hitler of Kabbalah! Sic Semper Tyrannis!

First of all, I really cannot wait to read this book. I received my confirmation from Amazon.com that says the books I ordered are on the way.

Secondly let me say that after reading the excerpt of Christopher's book it kinda makes me sad. I remember seeing him in the early '90's at a fashion show in LA . He had just finished designing her new house in Hollywood and working on her set designs for her tour. He was great looking back then, much thinner and a full head of hair. I remember all the gay men gawking at Madonna's hot brother. I am an interior designer and I remember how much I envied him back then for getting to design for Madonna who I loved back then. I was also thrilled at how close they were. I look at him now and can see the trouble in his face and the sadness that has happened between him and Madonna.

I tend to believe that it is more true than not. Guy Ritchie's homophobia is what shocks me the most. Actor Rupert Everett has said similar things about Guy too so it must have truth in it. I hope this book reaches the top of the charts and makes millions for Christopher who deserves every penny. I am angry at Madonna for treating so many people like dirt and she is getting it back in spades. It is even mysteriously beginning to show in her face. There's a saying that "You end up with the face you deserve" and Madonna's face it starting to pay up.

It sounds to me like Christopher was a decent brother.In the era he was working for Madonna, asking for money-for-services immediately, or more obviously, was considered 'bad for business' even if it was asking your own family. He was clearly asked above and below to cater to his sister, which a very strong love can be manipulated by the more egotistical sibling-Madonna. She should have paid him as well as other people,if not better. Other people will not work for less in that kind of job. Clearly Christopher thought that being family she would consider him both emotionally and monetarily -and why not?
There were plenty of times that he was doing it. He was capable.
She was too caught up with her persona. It's wrong. But a very Leo-like-move onto the next thrill-even if it's incredibly non-including for everybody else.
And so what if he wrote a book about her? Is it that unflattering?
Or is it that everybody else is supposed to be a sycophant- otherwise they are a 'loser'. And so what is he makes money from it?Plenty of other people are making money off her. if she thinks money can buy loyalty-which seems very clear - she's just another bossy Tony Soprano. It doesn't mean i hate her music/career, but i wonder if she realises that people are yawning. No-one can expect that amount if fawning to be given to them.
The observations about her choice of men in line with her personality were amazing-often the most middle of the road person paints themselves as a rebel.

Madonna is total user and it's so SAD that she uses her own family members. I read part of this, and it's SO SAD. Madonna is total trash–she basically treats her own family like servants. I look forward to reading the book. I feel for the family, but I can see why Christopher feels the way he does. I've known some people that knew Madonna personally and the way her brother describes her sounds about right. I just hope that in due time their family works things out. And if they don't now, they will definately regret later in life.
