Interestingly enough, here in Canada, the conservative and christian groups demanded the government perform a study on how well off children are with same sex parents vs. the opposite sex parents. As it turns out - THERE IS VIRTUALLY NO DIFFERENCE! In fact - the STUDY SHOWS GAY PARENTS ARE OFTEN BETTER PARENTS THAN STRAIGHT PARENTS. You can access the study on the government of Canada website. Hey Perez I am aunt to FIVE fabulous nieces/nephews who happen to be adopted. Now you seem to forget this very valid point. THEIR BIRTH PARENTS CHOOSE WHERE THEY WOULD GO!!!!!!! Not some social worker, not some politician. And these saintly unselfish wonderful people choose my brother's and sister's families. They choose Mother/Father straight couples. I am sure other birth parents choose other couples based on what they think is best for their child. If a birth parent thinks there is a gay couple who would provide the best home, they will choose them!!! Politics should not be any where near adoption!!!

Yes, both parents matter. Isn't a gay couple TWO parents? A child would still have two people lavishing them with love, education and attention. McCain divorced his first wife due to admitted extramarital affairs, yet they had a child together. Perhaps that has strengthened his view. A child with two gay parents who didn't stray might be better off than a child left with only one parent. So I agree with him. He agrees with him. He might have simply indicated that bonding with an opposite parent could also be productively formative.
