Is Bravo trying to sabotage Project Runway?
As y'all know, things got ugly earlier this year because Runway's bosses (the infamous Weinstein bros) are moving the popular show from Bravo to Lifetime.
Well, the new season of Runway premieres on Wednesday. But, have you noticed the lack of fanfare and billboard ads announcing the premiere?
We recall LA and NY plastered with Project Runway ads prior to past season premieres!!
E.W. reports that Bravo's GM said the scaled-back publicity this time around "was a matter of maintaining the contestants’ anonymity."
Uh huh! Riiiiight
However, some argue that Bravo could simply have whipped up billboards that feature host Heidi Klum.
Are they trying to bring the show down before the big move?
Smells awfully fishy to us!

Maybe they're keeping it a secret because the new season will not have new designers.. they might do the whole season with designers from the last four seasons and give them a second chance or something.

there was a marathon on this weekend promoting the new season. i am excited! but why no season one? is there a curry-esc fued with the the seaon one winner i am unaware of? thats the only season i havent seen, and it wasnt in the marathon either!

i think fans of the show KNOW when it will be back. and bravo is still somewhat advertising it, maybe not as much as they have in the past.
there was a mini marathon on during the weekend, but before it'd be on full rotation of the seasons before the premiere.
anyways, i dont even know what channel lifetime is, isnt that for old people? is that way they paid for Project Runway? to grab a younger audience?

oh they did show rerun of season 1. haha i love seeing Jay fight with that mom chick that everyone hated. god, everytime i watch that i get soo angry that Austin wasnt in the top 3! such a joke that the mom backstabber was there.
I don't think its fishy at all. I work directly with stations and selling their advertising space. The issue is that advertisers and show previews get scheduled and paid for months in advanced - which is true for billboards as well. Since there was a question whether the show was going to be on Lifetime or Bravo this season, I'm sure they didn't buy advertising space early on…or maybe at all. If you watch Bravo on a regular basis their are tons of adds and previews for the new season.

I am mad that PR is moving to Lifetime! I hate Lifetime network it is the worst network! My Mom watches that crap all the time. I keep reminding her, there are other stations to watch. I mean she has HBO!!!!
They ruined Bravo with their non stop airing of Kathy Griffin and now they are going to ruin Lifetime with PR.

I think they are going to do a Project Runway "Allstars" season that is why all the commercials have showed past contestants and may be why not alot of billboard advertising. I don't know..just a hunch.

I work for Michael Kors and I didnt even know it was starting up this wednesday..i just happen to catch the re-runs on Bravo and heard about it. We just had a town hall meeting and nothing was mentioned. Usually before each season they whore it out via email to "tune in". Something is up.
That whole outfit kicks ass! I would wear my hair up though in a messy ponytail with it. Can't wait for the new season. last season sucked. too many annoying contestants.

Seriously, did Bravo think NO ONE would notice? I kept wondering what was with the lack of Advertisement? We'd have an intro of all the new contestants by now like they usually do! What would be awesome is if they got all the people who won at least one elimination challenge and turned it into a show. That would be Ferosh.

they may not have any ads on billboards, but hell there are alot on tv. everytime you turn around on bravo there is an ad and also the lover right hand screen has a countdown to the new project runway.
Haven't even seen one ad. Love the show, though. If it weren't for (blog) articles about the lack of ads, I wouldn't know there even was a new season on the horizon!
