The shaking is probably just essential tremors. As they get older certain people start to develop shaking when they are performing intricate gestures (such as holding a coffee cup). The tremors usually get much worse as the years go on. In certain situations the tremors can get worse or calm down (eg: stressful or leisurely situations).

I just recently had the pleasure of meeting Shirley in Malibu and I have to say that she seemed absolutely "normal" (whatever that means for her) in terms of her mental awareness and overall physical appearance.
