Times are tough!

The cost of producing, marketing and distributing specialty films has skyrocketed and "indie" divisions of major movie studios all across Hollywood are under increased scrutiny from corporate parents.

Well, a few weeks ago, Paramount Pictures took over a number of departments from its 'indie' arm Paramount Vantage.

Unfortunately, as y'all know, consolidation means job cuts.

Anyway, it looks like an employee is meeting the inevitable announcement of cuts with some 'humor' on the Paramount studio lot. She or he 'vandalized' the Paramount Vantage sign on the lot.

Turning Vantage to 'Vintage', so cheeky!

      Dear Perez,
Stop being such a doomsday bitch..
Didn't you ever hear of the power of positive thinking. Don't you believe in what Will Smith's granny said to him when he was young.. If you're gonna be here you might well change the world?
Use your blog for something positive. Don't get people down. I understand that you do post for donations to good causes but the rest of your shit is poisonous.

If actors took a cut on their ridiculously high and unworthy salaries, maybe some of this could be prevented! And movie tickets wouldn't be so high either!

      Who cares?

And to the person who said "Blame Bush", I say, grow up and read something besides a gossip blog so you can stop making a complete fool of yoursel. You have no idea what you're talking about.

I used to work at the studio– SUCKFEST!Re: Mimi – Are you high? Actors pay are not what drives up movie costs… most actors make like 7500 or less a year.. see sag for stats… what drives up movie prices are marketing and an american audiences love of seeing expensive things getting blown up…

ok this is getting bad, very bad. this is all due to horrible marketing strategies. why is it that when a studio know that they have a shit show of a film on their hands they decided that spending a million dollars to promote it will save them? ie eddy Murphy's big ass head in times square. they spent double the box office on the promotional crap. time to go back to grass roots campaigns and wom marketing. maybe then we can save a dozen or two jobs. this had gotten way out of hand and i feel that studio execs are just retarded these days. companies like Viacom are ruining the film industry. I have worked for and with many of these studios and its sad to see them close the doors every time i blink. save the industry, stop fluffing everything up, lower marketing budgets not marketing employees

It was just a little sarcasm. Nice to see someone else get tired of GW getting blamed for anything and everything that goes wrong in the world as well.
