Very exciting news musical theater lovers!!!

Finally, a feature film adaptation of the Broadway smash Wicked is in the works.

Yay!

Some names that we could easily see playing either role are: Anne Hathaway, Mandy Moore, Emmy Rossum, Kristen Bell and…..

Who would U love to see in the film????

I know this is SO not Hollywood, but how cool would it be to actually have the two original leading ladies - Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenowith - in the leads? The book is great, so hopefully, fingers crossed, hollywood won't fuck this movie up. And I think a Anne Hathaway or Emmy Rossum would be a great choice For Elphaba's part.

Fo Elphaba they better fucking use Idina Menzel (or possibly Willemijn Verkaik… the amazing German Elphaba who does speak English as well). And for G(a)linda they better use Kristin Chenoweth. Seriously, bring the OBC back just as they did with the Rent movie. It would be a knock against all the Wicked fans if they didn't use either the OBC or, at the very least, other people who have already played the roles. Such as Eden Espinosa or Kerry Ellis or any of the other Elphabas or Galindas.

Shouldn't be a surprise since Universal is who put the stage show on to begin with.

Anyway, excited to see a movie version. Visually it can be amazing if done right. Just keep shits like Shouefucker away from it. Don't need him putting ass shots and other crap in it like he did the Phantom.

The best would be to NOT mess with it and just leave the original cast to play the parts in the movie, as well. But, you KNOW that's not gonna happen.

I'd love to see Mandy Moore in this - good choice! And Madonna would be great in this movie, too. I just can't see which part, since she's older than what the main characters are supposed to be. They should have waited a few year so that LOLA could play Elphaba!
