Talk about BAD timing!

Alleged coke user Steven Page and his band, the Barenaked Ladies are on the Disney Block Party tour this summer.

They're playing for families in the US July-August.

So…do Disney acts rock and roll just as hard as other bands?!

According to the band's bio on the tour's website, the Ladies released a kids album in May 2008.

Was it the proceeds earned entertaining the kiddies that funded Page's alleged coke binge?

Interesting!

No word on whether or not Disney will cut Barenaked from the tour in light of Steven's drug arrest.

      Not that I want to encourage kids to consume illicit drugs, but I don't think there needs to be any link drawn between his creative art and what most likely is a mental health issue. There is no need whatsoever for parents to mention this issue to their children, who just want to listen to fun music - which is precisely what the BNL do best. All of us have our demons, Steven Page just happens to have a problem that he needs to resolve without being persecuted by the media.

      Considering PREGNANT TEEN JAMIE LYNN SPEARS and all the risque pictures of that UNDERAGE SLUT MILEY CYRUS, I don't think Disney has any right to cancel Barenaked Ladies' appearance. They do so much work for charity, and that should not be overlooked.

      I hope Steve's ok. I just saw him briefly at an instore performance promoting "Snacktime" last month in Los Angeles, and he seemed very happy.

      I *LOVE* BNL and they have done nothing but be awesome to their fans and put on the best live shows imaginable. They are all good guys and Steven hasn't been proven guilty yet. It could just be a big misunderstanding - wrong place, wrong time, or something. It is just mean to try and stir up trouble for a great group of musicians. I've never been moved to post on here before, but this is just wrong and hurtful, Perez. If you don't even know anything about them, it's pretty mean to issue such mean statements. Listen to some of their music sometime - they are a fun group!

      Perez–They are not a disney act. they are a successful and busy band that plays all over the country and are playing at disney to promote their kids album. I dont really think the $$ her earned from disney is fueling his "coke habbit". The guy was caught once. Maybe he was on a bender, but thats his business. I got my tickets to see them at disney.       You know. I was really shocked when I heard about Steven.

      From what I hear in the media, he co-operated. Didn't lie or try to disguise the situation. Hopefully he can see the arrest as a saving grace & the judge sends him to rehab & not prison.

      I don't often feel empathy for "celebrities" but I do this time. My heart sank a little bit when I heard the news and at the same time one of my first thoughts was Dumb Ass! don't do the drugs in the U.S.. If you want to smoke some weed - stay here at home. Once you cross the border - don't even think about it.
      Not weed & certainly not coke. Tommy Chong went to jail for selling bongs. . . if that can happen I'd think any right minded person would stay away from the hard stuff down there. . .

      I think that if this was not his first offence & he was a "problem celeb" & I was Disney - I'd drop him. But he does have a clean cut image & a person can make a mistake & learn from it - so I'd keep them. I just hope he is one of those that can learn from it and it isn't just the beginning of his Dr. Drew Rehab career…..

      BNL cancelled their appearances for Disney because the band did not want to put Disney in an awkward position before issues involving Steven's arrest are resolved; however, they still support Steven!
