Good new for the those Scrubs fans that remain out there.
As you might have heard by now, the show is being picked up by ABC for another season. It's likely to start airing in January 2009.
And, rumors are that the sitcom might continue on for a few more seasons with new cast members along the way.
Looks like they're trying to make it survive like ER did.
There's a (strong?) possibility that Scrubs lead Zach Braff won't be returning.
ABC entertainment president Steve McPherson said, "Certainly when we picked it up we had to make the decision based on this one season because, you know, there is a likelihood that that would be it."
He adds, "We do think there's an opportunity after that — talking to Zach, talking to Bill — and whether and/or all of the cast is a part of that, I still think there's a great amount of growth there. We do think that it will not hopefully be a one-season situation. But we'll just take that step by step."
Forget about future seasons.

unfortunately, even if scrubs it's not as good as it was in the first 3/4 years, it's still better than most television shows, grey's anatomy included!
the last season was pretty good, actually. i just don't understand why ABC wants to turn the show into a shell of what it was… i mean, like ER?! it's not really a good thing to turn Scrubs into the next, boring ER! and, please! a new cast?! that would be just plain wrong… i would probably watch a 9th season if braff, chalke, faison and co. would stick with it, but a new cast?! well, sorry… not really excited about that
I am a Scrubs fanatic and will be totally disappointed if they continue the series without Zach. I don't even know why they would consider continuing the show without him. Scrubs is centered on JD and his narration… What's to watch without that? I could handle a spin off but to call it Scrubs without Zach Braff would be a crock of shit

i used to loooovvvve scrubs but have found that in the last couple seasons its getting kind of annoying especially zach braffs charactor! JD is getting more and more pathetic and silly

scrubs is legit but jd's character has gotten a little absurd and well….gay. i think they could definitely go on without him and have someone else fill in the roll of narrator. specifically elliot or turk. or hell all of them. they've each had a go at it
i would deff watch it, but only if they keep the cast.
i love the cast now, and i think it would be a lot better to just stop the show, then to get a new cast. the cast now, is amazing.

i love scubs! it's a really great show and to those who haven't watched it catch it on comedy central, at least give it a chance. bill lawrence is awesome and it would be awkward if some of the cast left. to all of you who have watched the show before, i thought i wasn't going to get used to keith and kim being regulars for a couple of seasons, but i did. great comedy and touching story lines

there is not a chance i'm gonna watch the new scrubs, it should have stopped at season 5, that season was amazing and then it just went into a downward spiral of not making sense, and being totaly rubbish.

scrubs is definitly an awesome show, but what is it with out braff? yet, the gorilla look isnt really helping for him.
perez didn't mention this either, but before Season 9, Bill Lawrence's (aka THE MASTERMIND OF THE ENTIRE SHOW) contract also runs out and he's publicly said he's not doing another season. If he and Braff leave, there's really no reason to watch the show, and ABC should find that out sooner than later.
Lawrence said he's going to write Season 8 as if it were the last season (because its his last) so thankfully us fans will get the closer we wanted :]
