Industry insiders reveal exclusively to PerezHilton.com that last week's People magazine cover with "Nicole Kidman's Baby Joy" was a sales DUD.
Meanwhile, Us Weekly and In Touch's Madonna covers, which competed against Kidman on newsstands, enjoyed solid sales.
"People sold WAY less than it normally does," sources tell us.
It's a good thing they didn't pay for her baby pictures then!

Something tells me that Nicole Kidman doesn't really give a shit about how others perceive/feel about her and she probably has better things to do than worry about how many copies of some tabloid sold just because her pic was on the front. I doubt she let it ruin her day or minute for that matter.

I doubt it was her fault the magazine didn't sell. Hell, I wouldn't buy it if Angelina the homewreaking, adopting-babies-to-get-good-press, Brad Pitt henpecking tramp were on the cover. But then you hate Nicole (probably because she doesn't suck up to you) and it doesn't matter what she does any way, does it???
I am pretty sure that the mags with Sunday Roast would sell, that is unless the baby turns out to be fugly with a big head. Their kid is gonna have a big forehead. I would like to see the baby though. I don't really care about their relationship. They seem very boring, but I do want to see what Sunday Roast looks like.
Maybe it was a shitty issue of People. Can't blame Nicole.

That's a wax figure and it's pretty obivious. But yeah a magazine cover with a story about infidelity and divorce is going to outsell a cover about announcing a birth. People nowadays want the dirt. They want to read about the horrible things that happen to people rather than hearing about something good. Take this website for instance it's so popular because Perez is always tearing everyone down. People want the gossip, the secrets, they want to know that besides all the fame and money they're just like us.
I guess because you are paid by Brad and Angie to sing their praises, you have to diss Nicole and Keith because they opted to NOT sell photos of their child? If you will remember correctly, you didn't see any photos of Nic and Tom's kids until they were about 4 or 5. You still don't see many photos of Nic and the kids because she opts not to pimp out her kids unlike Tom Cruise who has photos smeared everywhere!
The reason the magazine didn't sell is exactly because they didn't buy the picture. People who "read" people don't read it for the world class journalism, they want to see pictures of the stars and their cute little babies. Lesson to People - if there's no picture - there's no story. It might as well not even have happened. There's also the perception that Nicole thinks she is superior to all other stars by not selling the rights to the pictures. Nobody likes that.

I don't think it was because she was on the cover. And I think magazines will see less buyers in the future with the way the economy is going, people have to buy gas and grocerys first. And besides you can get the same crap online for free.

GET A LIFE Perez….Obviously no one bought the magazine, they haven't released a picture, and have only released two sentences! There is no story, because Keith and Nicole don't WANT there to be a story! They had a baby, they announced it, DONE. Their fans are happy for them, and are leaving them to enjoy the proud moment like normal people. I don't think they are crying over unsold magazines -hey aren't that shallow.

I, personally think that Nicole Kidman wasn't even pregnant. I think she put one of the prostetic belly's underneath her clothes. Does anyone have a photo of this "stick" being in the 8th or 9th month? What did she give birth to? Mini me? Also, just to note, I hate her "built-in" glare. Old photos of her, like when she was in that movie "Dead Calm" show a natural beauty. Nowadays, there is something weird about her eyebrows. I can't figure what it is. Anyone have any guesses?
She's really losing her hair on the sides no wonder she looks so old. Besides the obvious botox on her forehead, that makes her look worse.
Just like I said before, only Lucille Ball and Madonna got the BIGGEST Press coverage for Having babies. The rest all followed and got pregnant just to get the publicity and failed to get any attention. I still all the clippings from 1996 when Lourdes was born, maybe I should post them. Seriously Perez, do you honestly believe that sales for last weeks People were down because "America does not care for Nicole Kidman"? This is a time of harsh economics and readers are going to spend their money on the publications with the biggest headlines. Instead of buying all three magazines, they now have to choose between a gallon of gas or another magazine. Unfortunately, Madonna is in the middle of a huge scandal which is sadly bigger news than baby news.

i don't think Nicole has the type of fans who would spend money on those kinds of trash magazines. she's my favourite actress and i'd never buy a copy of People mag, regardless of who was on it including her.
Did you actually see the People magazine though? There was nothing in it worth buying as they had no inside information and did not tell us anything we did not already know. It was basically a waste of money and magazines are so 'out of fashion' as they are too expensive and the news and gossip is recycled. I also say good on Nicole Kidman for keeping her private life private and not selling out her baby. Throughout her divorce from Tom Cruise and her other relationships she has maintained dignity and refused to become a attention seeking celebrity in order to boost up her celebrity status. I put her in the same class and awe as the silver screen stars. As for poking fun at a so called lack of sales by People magazine Perez, are you not the same person who only had 9 people turn up to their fashion clothes opening? i think the majority of the time magaznie sales sell good with stories like this because there are actually first pictures of the baby. No one cares half as much about the details of it all then they do about seeing the baby
It didn't sell well because all it did was announce that the birth had happened and then review pictures of her while pregnant - boring! If there was an actual story maybe people would have bought it.
