It's good Jay's leaving. Why this soon I don't know, but if he goes to another network he's going to be making MADDD mula! If he goes to ABC I wonder how they're going to work around Kimmel. FOX seems like the obvious choice.

NBC screwed the pooch. Leno is King of late night and they throw him under the bus for a guy who couldn't get booked in Vegas. Mean ass Letterman is laughing his ass off. Watch Leno go to FOX and kick NBC's ass and get twice the dough. Do it Jay.

I think you're confused. NBC has been trying to get rid of him for quite some time. His ratings are down, he's stinking up the network with some of the worst opening monologues of all time, and HE was trying to fight NBC to stay. Now that his fits haven't worked, he's trying to appear to be the bigger man and make NBC look bad. Watch ten minutes of his show and you'll know who looks bad. ALSO, this is relatively unrelated, but NBC-Universal is making its best effort to go green (green is Universal, anyone? anyone?). Well, with however many dozens of cars Jay insists on driving around… lets just say he's doing about the same thing to the environment as he does to entertainment.

I know Jay for 24 years and not only is he kind, and generous but SMART—he loves cats and I can assure you he will land on his feel just like one:-)

Facts vs. some of the posts from this, and the previous, Leno/NBC item:

-Leno has a green garage. He refurbishes old cars, and drives them sparingly. He is serious about having a very environmentally-sound operation.

-He is NOT in cahoots with the far right. If someone can post a link (**not** from a blog or chat forum) showing quotes or donation histories from him that prove his affiliations– do so. In fact– if one wants to deal in rumor alone– I'd always heard the opposite. His wife is a feminist, and very sweet.

There's something about Jay I've always liked, even if his material can tend toward lowbrow. He would do well with smarter writers. He would be an awesome replacement for Larry King; he's fairly good with people. Conan's great, but seems the perfect late-late-night performer. His bits are better than his interviews, often. Letterman: I've tried to like him so much over the years, but find his smartass schtick more annoying than the other two, for some reason– the least comfortable host to watch. One always senses he'd rather not be there at all.

One more comment: Leno often looks so unhappy in paparazzi shots. Hope he finds what he's missing.

Agreed! Love Jay…Conan isn't funny at all to me. Just too damn weird if you ask me…..

I like Jay and I think NBC is really screwing him over. It's a bad decision by NBC for too many reasons to go into here. Really? Jimmy Fallon? Never mind. The best late night talk show host BY FAR is Craig Ferguson.

Re: mardi – Thanks for the note–he is truly what you see is what you get and gives, gives for every cause—I know everyone is entitled to their opinion but my gloves come off for Jay (and my hat too) as he does so much for so many and most of it is never in his name–one class act!
