I actually saw this today. I had seen so much all weekend about the heated words blah and wondered how they would spin it and it was soooo put on. At some point Babs has to own that maybe just maybe Elizabeth is as big a problem as Rosie ever was….she provoked ALLL the other ladies the other day and they fought..she did that all the time to Rosie. It was funny to see them trying to cover the tracks..oh we respect each other- and I wasn't crying..it was total CRAP. You could tell they had been told to make nice nice..it was so put on!

Regardless of their genuine intentions, I am sure ABC asked them to address this issues and make nice publicly. Their discussion did fuel a lot of fire, as seen on the perezhilton.com message board.

i am black and i know many people who use the n-word, many in my family do. elizabeth got on my nerves because she was so upset that she cannot use the word while blacks can use it with each other. she sounded angry because the use of the word in not in her control. she cant control a culture, she needs to get over it. right or wrong, its part of black culture,is used frequently, and will continue to be for a very long time

I have to agree. Elizabeth is off the handle with some of her ridiculous comments. They need to kick her off the show. I'm not a big fan of Rosie, but I do blame Elizabeth for always getting Rosie angry and upset with some of the stupid stuff that comes out of her mouth. I have thought for the last 2 seasons that Elisabitch has the idea that she should be the moderator on this show. Shhe disrespected Rosie all last season and she has been doing the same to Whoopie this season. I have emailed Barbara and Bill Geddy letting them know how Elisabitch looks on air with her fake intelligence and her bleach blonde facade. Elisabitch is the downfall of this program. Watch the video and notice how Joy is acting VERY umcomfortable with the ass kissing that is going on there. Jpy seems to be totally fed up with Elisabitch. Anyone else notice this?

I think Elizabeth is a no-talent who belongs on Fox with the other no-talents on that network. Most of the time she has no idea what she is talking about. After all her claim to fame is that she was on Survivor.
I never watch that show. One time I was flipping through the channels and the noise of their voices crept into my ears and caused my eardrums to explode.
I just love how Joy is not saying a single word - not in this clip, nor in the original drama-bit. Would like to hear her internal dialogue though, bet it would be hilarious.

I agree with Whoopi. By taking the word and making it your own, you get rid of it's power. We are currently doing the same thing with our comedy in NYC, "feminazi" (the n-word for women). We have an uber-German feminist looking for sexist pigs. By taking this word and holding it up to the light for what it really is, we are breaking it down and making it powerless.

I heard Whoopie was getting crap for "making Elizabeth cry." Whoopie didn't make her cry - Elizabeth was crying out of her own frustration. It's sad people made Whoopie out to be the bad guy.

Elisabeth was upset because she feels the N word is a horrible word, should never have been invented (no matter who that was) She has compassion, and thinks the word needs to disapear, for everyone.
