In the IMAX it was visually stunning. Looks to be amazing. I love X-men so I hope it's as good or possibly as wonderful as The Dark knight Which was about the joker really, not batman.

looked kinda cool but i hated 300 and i feel like watching that movie gave me a glimpse into the directors soul and it was very corrupt. so i exspect it to be really shitty and wannabe. alot of people will love it im sure.

this movie might have box office trouble due to the number of people who dont know who the watchmen were. it looks solid as far as content. assuming they dont butcher the storyline.
I thought it looked pretty good. But what bothered me was the fact that EVERY single preview before the Batman movie was about the world ending or civilization ending or some other violence related topic. Granted I was there to see a movie with violence in it, but it just made me wonder if Hollywood isn't creative enough to think about something other than violence. Sad…..

This is nothing like the X-men. A non comic reader wouldn't be impressed or even understand what this is. The Watchmen was a 12 part mini series in 1985. These characters were only in this mini series. The Watchmen is the reason comics are now no longer for children. Batman would still be a campy mess if it were not for The Watchmen's influence. The Watchmen changed the face of comics forever. This is kinda the holy grail of modern comics.
watchmen is by far one of the best comic thrillers, and a lot is riding on it to be good. if its not, my dad is going to be crushed
Watchmen is the Citizen Kane of comic books. I think it will be great. My only worries of it failing would be if they can really adapt the story for the screen without sacrificing too much. Make no mistake, it's got superheroes in it, but it is very intelligent and VERY FUCKED UP.

Watchmen is a brilliant book (one that is absolutely NOTHING like X-Men, by the way), and it looks like it will be a brilliant movie.
Comparing this to an X-Men movie is disturbing.
Though those movies were fun and enjoyable, this movie will be visually and thematically STUNNING.
It's going to be unbelievable.
The book is great so hopefully this will be spectacular. I read a review stating that it's going to be amazing. I agree with everyone else on this site, the book is a classic. People always comment about things they have not a clue about.

Perez, you seem rather clueless when it comes to anything comic book- related. I would suggest not comparing graphic novels you know nothing about to X-Men because Watchmen is completely unrelated. Not even close. Also, Batman is supposed to be dark. That's the way he was created in 1939, long before Adam West wore spandex badly and Joel Schumacher destroyed the franchise.
The watchmen is one of the 100 greatest NOVELS according to Time. The next X-Men… I hope they don't butcher the story as much as they did the X-Men. The watchmen and x-men should not be compared ever they are very very very different (shows how much you know). Anyone who has read it is probably excited to see it, I sure am. I think it will be amazing. The story is so exciting.

Perez I love you, but I have to educate you about Watchmen. in a really short description it is a graphic novel about ex "masks" and the aftermath of one of their contemporaries murders, and it's a little difficult to describe. It is in no way similar to X-Men, it is far more dark and deals more in the darkness of the human psyche if that makes any sense. In fact only one of them has real powers the rest are just vigilantes. The film looks a little promising but Watchmen seems really unadaptable so it's probably not going to be as great as the novel. Read it

This tiny little Perez TV bullshit doesn't do this trailer justice because seeing this trailer ahead of the Dark Knight made me an instant fan.
LOVE the comic, so I am trying not to get my hopes up for the movie incase I'm dissapointed. BUT, from that very brief preview it does look like they have got the characters looking right, so here's hoping the rest of it is just as good!

You judge things based on what you see, you really should get your facts straight before you start influencing the other pea-brained people that read your blog.
First of all, Alan Moore is a literary genius, you really need to read his works (and no, watching V for Vendetta does not count you moron). Watchmen is a literary composition which depics the situation between the US and the Soviet Union back in the days, where as Dark Knight and The X-men are for those stupid wannabe people who thinks they've read it all the "great" comic books in the world.
Second, Watchmen is far more than a comic book, it's so deep students often study this book in college for it's numerous themes. (You don't see college students studying x-men do ya?) Also, the watchmen has a far more plausible plot than x-men (apart from dr. mahattan), where as x-men is all about people having super powers and saving the world. And I'm not saying I don't like the x-men, it's a great read, and the movies are 'aight, but don't go dissing watchmen if you haven't read the book.
And lastly. Dude, this was out so so long ago, like last thursday. You really should go and update your sources. Also do us a favor, don't go on commenting things before you get your facts straight.

I've been watching that trailer since Thursday. It was in the Dark Knight previews. It looked pretty cool! I've been looking at it many times and my friend keeps looking at in and she can't wait for it to come out. Me too I am so excited. This is the first comic book to win a Hugo Award. I just can't wait to see what the director of 300 did with this! Hey man, if he can pull it of, kudos to him! Trailer is bangin!

The Watchmen is an incredible comic book, with a lot of subtle references to the Free Masons and the NWO. If you read the book carefuly and pay attention to the drawings, you will find lots of symbolism and hints about it. This book is smart and complex. Nothing like your comments, obviously…

The Watchmen is the most celebrated graphic novel of all time, it is about what happens when you are no longer able to trust those who are supposed to protect you. I advise people not to judge it right now, instead I advise you to read the graphic novel itself. So much time and money and thought was put into this movie and I have following the updates for a long time so please everyone, do not jump to conclusions, you just may pleasantly surprised when you see the movies. I saw this trailer a couple of days ago. The Watchmen is the greatest graphic novel of all time (widely recognized.) And it looks like they did a great job here. Dr. Manhattan looks especially amazing. I could do without the song, great on it's own not for this trailer though - and double used.

watchmen is an amazing graphic novel, and i think fans will really like it. but i think it's important to note, a lot of comic book/graphic movies made over the past few years (300, iron man, hulk, sin city, dark knight) are being made BY comic book people FOR comic book people. they did the whole hollywood-it-up thing for the general public in movies like x-men, and the first hulk (with eric bana), which resulted in some pretty shitty movies. now, it's kind of like fuck the general public. if they like it good, if they don't, whatever.

I'd like to know what exactly you mean by "this" cause something tells me you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about.
After I watched the trailer I had to look the movie up on IMDB because I had no idea what the movie was about. I think that the trailer was meant to be visually exciting, to get people interested in seeing the film. The only problem with that approach is that someone who doesn't know what Watchmen is about is going to be confused and less likely to want to see the film. All in all I wasn't really impressed despite the fact that I generally enjoy movies of this genre.

It looks like it's going to be pretty sick, lots of fun. AND good use of the beginning is the end is the beginning, which, oddly, was used as a toss off song for another superhero movie (batman and robin). SMASHING PUMPKINS FUCKIN' RULE! What movie is this trailer for again?
