He Moves Fast

wenn5093499.jpg

The treatment you get when you're a former Beatles star.

Apparently Paul McCartney arrived late on Friday night, just before the start of the Billy Joel concert.

So what's a guy to do?

Well, you get the NYPD to escort you from JFK Airport to Shea Stadium in less than 15 minutes!

The distance is approximately 11 miles away.

McCartney's plane landed shortly after 11:00pm.

He was then met on the tarmac by cops.

And then made it to the stadium by 11:20pm to surprise everyone.

Of course, all the while being escorted by police.

It's nice to see tax dollars being spent properly.

After 9/11 Sir Paul DONATED millions of dollars worth of equipment, on the spot to the FDNY (his father was a firefighter) he pulled strings and got trucks to Ground Zero, to replace the ones flattened. No way would they have got them otherwise. He has done more for the "tax payers" in NY by properly supporting the First Responders that the useless Federal Commission who refuse medical help to them. who is stay say they were on duty? Cops get paid for detail work… To do detail work, they are off duty. They get paid by whomever hires them. The places (such as night clubs) submit applications to the police department, asking for instance for an officer to work outside the night club, or maybe like downtown areas in major cities… and the cops who are off duty check out what detail work is available, and if they want to spend one of their two off nights working detail, they can… and will make a little extra money to support their sometimes meager salaries.

I really dont know if they were hired off duty cops or not, but you cant just make an assumption without knowing the facts. Ass-U-Me

the only way to get there before the concert concluded was to get an escort. otherwise, he would've been stuck for hours.

Hey Perez…If you are going to report "news"…how about you give credit to the people you steal it from?

Report: McCartney made it from JFK to Shea in 15 mins.
      Newsday Staff Writer
If you thought Friday night's Billy Joel concert was wonderful, you don't know the miraculous part. According to the Daily News, former Beatle Paul McCartney was hauled off from JFK Airport to Shea Stadium in less than 15 minutes. With the help of the NYPD, of course.

The British singer's plane landed a little after 11 p.m., and it was met on the tarmac by cops. He ran down the stairs and by 11:20 he jumped on stage at Shea Stadium, surprising the Piano Man. According to the Rush and Molloy blog, he was escorted the whole way by NYPD.

The cops did not divulge the actual route, but it would be fair to assume it was through the ultra-congested Van Wyck Expressway to the stadium. A ride of a little more than 11 miles covered in less than 15 minutes. Any person who has driven the Van Wyck might be green with envy.

The only one who doesn't have morals or class (seriously, have you ever watched the guy?) is you, for saying stuff like that.
And, 'someone was getting murdered while he was being escorted' is such a lame excuse! Someone was getting murdered while the police was eating a glaced donut, is more likely.
People are dying in africa and dozends of other countries, thousands every single day, probably someone was out on your streets getting murdered while you were sitting inside the house typing this comment…if only you had been out there to help them blablabla….with arguments like that you could go on forever, couldn't you?

Paul McCartney's a legend… Also, I believe he was performing a song at the concert so time was of the essence. I would have no problem paying my small share for that ride…better than paying for an unnecessary war.

Hey worry about your own tax dollars that are being spent on killing others and yourselves over oil. You're such an idiot to comment on Canada's taxes. Our tax dollars are badly spent on helping you guys fight this stupid war.

He gave a free concert on Les Plaines d'Abraham in Québec on Saturday in honour of the city's 400th anniversary. He played for hours. Quel homme!

Oops, Paul gave his free concert on Sunday, not on Saturday. See You Tube for videos.
