It's official!
Nick Lachey = the kiss of death.
The second episode of ABC's reality show High School Musical: Get In The Picture fell 18% in the ratings.
Not to mention that it had shiteous numbers during its premier on Sunday.
The show has now become the lowest-rated Monday night show among the major broadcast networks.
This has resulted in ABC's lowest-rated Monday night in three years.
One insider says, “People always try to sell us reality shows based on football — because nothing scores higher ratings then football. But people watch football because it’s actually football."
The sources adds, "A reality show about football — like a reality show about ‘High School Musical’ — it’s like you’re trying to sell the viewer with something that the show is not. Plus, it’s a kids brand on a network that targets adults 18 to 49. And, in this case, the show’s prize is weak, so the stakes are low.”
That makes sense.
Why would 18 to 49 year olds want to watch a HSM reality show? They should have aired that on the Disney channel or the ABC Family channel.

I think everyone is tired of the Ameican Idol formatted shows. Besides we're used to being able to participate and they are picking the winner this week and all the eps are pre-recorded, Nick said on Jimmy Kimmel so who cares to watch when it's already over.

If you watched the show (I did - dont have my remote and was too lazy to change)..it in itself is stupid..w./ or w/o lachey..it wouldve been horrible. They are performing to 3 judges and it looked like there were maybe 10 people in the audience watching. Not only that - the kids were talentless - Nick Lachey acted how he shouldve - bored out of his mind.

You're a moron. Nick Lachey is NOT the problem. Families outside of Hollywood and New York are just sick and tired of freaking reality tv. There is NOTHING good on television anymore for families. It's all shallow, scripted "reality" drama. It's all drivel and the television industry "suits" need to get a clue as to what middle America wants to see on television. The world outside of Hollywood is not all shallow. Some of us still enjoy watching shows that promote family values, etc.
Also, we are way over HSM. The original was adorable for our kids but they sequels have all been thrown together with lousy music and weak scripts. Most of all, the two main stars of the show have destroyed the franchise. Neither Zach, nor Vanessa are anything like the sweet, innocent people they play on the screen. There is no way for kids or parents to forget the arrogant, narcissistic skanyness that is Zach and Vanessa when watching them in the movies. That ruins everything. Disney should have dumped BOTH of them after the first movie. Poor Nick is paying the price for the damage done by these two nasty little brats.
