Christian Bale Arrested
As we told you he would…
Christian Bale was arrested in London today in connection with assault charges brought against him by his mother and sister.
The incident apparently occurred in his hotel on Sunday.
The actor is currently being questioned by police.
He has yet to release a statement.
Update:
He has handed himself into police voluntarily over the mysterious domestic feud.
He went to Belgravia police station in central London earlier today and is still there, being held in custody.
When asked if Bale had been arrested, a police spokesman said "A 34-year-old man attended a central London police station this morning by appointment and was arrested in connection with an allegation of assault. He currently remains in custody."
His family is not talking.

Typical style for people that feel entitled to someone else's money, and that they waited until Monday to report it was so to try and embarass him at his premier. The more telling sign is that the police allowed him to attend - sounds like they don't quite believe the mother or sister, but of course they have to investigate it since a complaint was lodged. Will wait to see what actually happens.

Sounds batty. Mom and Sis reported it before the premiere. What they didn't get tickets and are pissed? Romors online state that his mother and sister are low lifes who went to the hotel and demaded to be let into his room when he was out. The hotel staff refused, the family began a scene, and then they camped out and waited for christian to come back. When he did, they began verbally assaulting him and told him that he thinks he's a bigshot now, and that he "owes" them. Take care of your own, they apparently said. They shoved him or something, and when he tried to move one of them, or was self defensive, they went to the cops. The next day, I might add. This guy didn't do anything wrong, I'm pretty much sure of it. Money is the root of all evil. Why would he assault his own mother on the same night as his London premiere? Give me a break. Lying wenches.
If he was arrested for assault, but not aggravated assault, then there's a good chance that his mom and sis felt threatened, but weren't actually attacked/struck/etc.
It's also safe to assume that most people (except for Naomi Campbell) won't threaten others unless provoked. I'm not saying there's any excuse for violence, and I'm certainly not trying to blame the victims (if they are, in fact, victims), but I assume that his mom and sister in some way provoked a response.
He's not above the law, but he's also innocent until proven guilty. Let's not condemn the guy based on one assault charge with no details. Let the police work it out, and then we'll see.
Poor Christian. This is depressing. I feel bad for him because it seems like Heath Ledger is getting all the attention for The Dark Knight, and Christian is an amazing actor as well. First of all, why wait until the NEXT day to file a grievance against someone who (verbally) assaulted you? Did they want to be absolutely sure they had a case, or was it more of a shakedown gone wrong and embarassing him was the only way to save face/get even?
I think he acted nobly by coming in voluntarily. He must not be worried over this allegation. It is unfortunate though that this has marred his public/professional image. Maybe that was the family's motive?
On another note, he has always been secretive about his personal life. Maybe he wanted to avoid something like this from ever happening. We all have those crazy relatives that we would rather not be reminded of. Could his mom and sis be those? Yes it's hard to think of a mom as "bad" but , it's possible, as this case points out.
And, as far that drug reference that a few of you have posted, I highly doubt that Bale is a user. The guy seems too intellectual to dabble in drugs. His appearance may have more to do with whatever role he's working on right now. He runs the gamit of losing LOTS of weight for The Machinist , to beefing up for Harsh Times (ladies, check that one out!).
