An insider has revealed to British paper The Sun that all might not be well with Madge.
Apparently, she's been diagnosed with anemia because she hasn't been taking care of herself. Or so they claim.
“Madonna is doing less than OK. She has been rehearsing for the tour and she is totally miserable. She’s down physically and mentally. The situation with Guy is very, very tense. The way the press are going crazy with the A-Rod story, her brother’s book and her physical exhaustion are all taking their toll. Family tension with her father and two of her other siblings has also been awkward. She feels nobody has taken her side. One of her closest pals says she has never seen Madonna so low. She has been feeling low and looking really gaunt. Madonna was told to go soft on work and rehearsals, so she will now take one proper day off every week and go easy in the mornings. She has a blood analysis done every few days — including one during last Friday’s rehearsal in front of everyone."

FYI…. Anemia can be a serious & dealy disease. I have been hospitalized twice for a (genetic) acute anemia.

I've been a Madonna fan since I first saw the Borderline video on TBS' Night Tracks, but as much as I adore her, she has acted badly. If I saw her on the street, I feel has a fan she would tell me to "fuck off", which isn't right. Anyhow, that is the impression I get at this stage of her career. (Note: I have three tickets to Sticky & Sweet and have no doubt that she will bust her ass so that everyone in the area has a kick-ass time), but the Madonna we all fell in love with seems gone…and I for one miss her.
Her arms are just so….icky! She needs to lay off the work outs and soften up a bit. I was diagnosed with a hereditary blood disorder that makes me permanently anemic. Having been extremely anemic before, it does take a lot out of you and makes you constantly fatigued, irritable, and etc. I always get more anemic when I lose weight, don't get enough sleep, and work out a little overzealously, perhaps Madonna is just wearing herself out. It's no little thing to be anemic though, especially if you are really low.

Anemia often happens to women going thru menopause. Their periods get feweer and farther between, sometimes very heavy or abnormally light. No ovulation is taking place (or very little and intermitent) and the uterine lining does not get the signal to "sluff off". regularly/monthly….old blood creates clots (sorry) and causes heavier than normal flows. Also, she might have fibroid tumors (at her age quite common) which cause very heavy bleeding and sometimes leads to anemia from blood loss. All the working out in the work will not slow this process for her…time marches on, even for Vadge!
