We thought she was on the road to recovery, but it's clearly an ongoing battle for Allegra.

Hopefully she finds her way before something tragic happens!

Do you know anything about eating disorders? Somtimes the person is an idiot and abuses themself to be thin, and other times its a mental problem and they cant help but not eat or they just cant gain weight. We dont know her exact situation.

What I find as disturbing as the way Allegra looks right now is those of you who weigh in on a topic you do not know much about. It's not so simple as just "finding a new hobby" or "throwing her a burger". Anorexia is a very real disease that has as much to do with control as it does the food itself. Don't mouth off about things you do not understand, just because it does not make sense to you.

My bf's sister has been emaciated for years… seeing a psychologist and nutritionist hasn't helped. They don't necessarily die right away, they can live at an unhealthily low weight. Just like being obese, the effects on your heart and organs will show up down the road. You can sense her anxiety when you sit down to have dinner with her… anorexia is such a sad psychological disease. I feel bad for these girls.

What the hell is wrong with you people saying that she should eat a sandwich..having an eating disorder usually has nothing to do with your weight.. it's a serious problem and telling someone to get a hobby or eat a sandwich is extremely cruel. i've suffered an eating disorder for over 4 years and was hospitalized for two weeks two years ago. i'm doing much better now but it's a daily struggle. And i can say for a fact that when Allegra looks in the mirror she doesn't see what everybody else sees & she has an extremely distorted view of herself and lots of self hate. She most likely has alot of emotional & mental problems and instead of facing her problems she uses the eating disorder to avoid them, so for these people saying she doesn't have a problem and she should get a hobby or eat a sandwich-you should do some research because eating disorders are extremely serious and have a very high death rate. And eating disorder's can be anything from not eating at all, binging and purging, using laxatives, or over excersizing. i would eat normal with my eating disorder but i would excersize like a maniac so regardless of what i ate i wouldn't gain weight.

I'm guessing she is afraid to become fat and therefore unlovable.

I cannot believe the mean spirited comments on this site. This girl regardless of her background is suffering a horrid disease that impacts males as well as females. Having worked at a Children's Hospital in my lifetime, you would be shock how young kids are when they start to suffer. The reasons why this starts spans the number of stars in the sky; from peer pressure, to loss of loved one, to a huge burden place on their shoulders they cannot deal with or say no. For those that come out alive, the saddest thing is to watch someone go through the recovery process. Long difficult years full of set back, side effects that lead to other life long problems requires strength bigger than most us of are capable of. Look deep into your heart and find a little bit of compassion for this girl and those that suffer with this illness and say thank you but for the grace of god go I.

Read up, inform yourself and you will learn the cure is not a simple as eating burgers.

As one who nearly died from bulimia (over 18 years of full-on disease), you don't "recover" — not fully. It's like alcoholism, you fight it every day for the rest of your life. I can't imagine how much harder it would be in today's world and living among the fashion industry types. In the late 70's/80's I thought it was a pressure cooker wanting to be "thin" and "cool" but now…..it's so much harder on these girls (and even boys). Unless she gets help (and is willing to accept it) and stays with it, this story might not have a happy ending.

if you are underweight unnaturally it shows. those models who are slim have the bone structure that the everyone is always talking about. what does that mean? not just high cheekbones. it means a small skeleton! narrow hips, small ribcage. you CAN'T buy that NOR change that with dieting. Your bone structure is what it is, THAT'S why some people make it as models and others don't. it has LITTLE to do with your flesh/fat mass. you can take a girl and diet her to skinny, but she'll still have a square, stocky look if her bone structure is wide-frame. STOP STARVING! With the wrong bones YOU'LL LOOK LIKE A WIDE LOAD OF BONES, IT MAKES NO DIFFERENCE!

I do understand it is a disorder, but I am confused. Yes, she does look sick and obviously needs help….I think we can all agree to that, but when anyone puts themselves under a microscope and constantly thinks of themselve and not others, you will have issues. I do think she needs to get out of her box and look at the real world. If she did take a trip to a third world country and see what really happens in "real" life she may see that her issues are small compaired to the rest.
