It's still a man's world in Hollywood. Just ask the highest-earning A-list celebs.

The top 10 best paid actors in Hollywood have out earned female actresses 2-1 over the last year!

Collectively, the top male actors took home approximately $487 million this year - as opposed to the leading ladies who brought in $244.5 million.

And, of that, the highest paid male actor is surprisingly Will Smith.

Smith took home an estimated $80 million during the last year!!!!

Crazy!

Looks like the Scientology leaders might be replacing Tom Cruise soon as their unofficial spokesman.

Johnny Depp is second on the list of top paid actors, making $72 million in the last year.

And coming in third is Eddie Murphy with $55 million.

People are still paying to see him????

Coming in fourth is Mike Meyers, followed by Leonardo DiCaprio.

Zacquisha will be up there one day!

In one movie is was paid $28 million+20percent of the gross.

It’s all about dollars and cents. Movies where a female is the principle lead, do not bring in the same box office revenues, that movies where the principle lead is a male. Especially if the movie is an action summer block buster. These are the movies that bring in $100,000,000 plus in ticket revenues.
Women films just don’t put up those kind of numbers. Therefore it is not justifiable for the studios to pay women lager salaries. It’s just business. Don’t blame the studios blame the people that don’t buy into women as action star mega heroes .
Here is the formula. If it is a date movie, use female lead as principle. If it is an action mega blockbuster, (which by the way, cost the studios much more to make) use male principle lead. It is a formula that works and the numbers don’t lie.

Mike Myers did well, considering the last movie he was in was released in 2006, a voice over job for Shrek 3. His last real movie was 2003's Dr Seuss.

In 2008 he made The Love Guru, universally considered a career-ender, a disastrous bomb that is getting rock bottom low ratings. Even worse than a movie with bad jokes is a funny movie with no jokes at all.

According to the article the $55 million he is getting is all from the Shrek line. It's just hard to believe, IMDB says he got $3M for Shrek and $10M for Shrek 2. For Shrek 3 he apparently got a percentage of the gross, and strangely enough it grossed $320M so if he negotiated 15% of that, it's a lot of cash.
