Could this be true?
Could the couple that used to say they didn't care to conceive naturally and would rather adopt have done this?
According to US Weekly, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt conceived their new twins, Vivienne and Knox, through in-vitro fertilization.
That kinda makes sense. Angie was looking WAY TOO SKINNY to have gotten pregnant naturally last year. We've always suspected Nicole Richie used IVF too.
A source says, "They conceived through in vitro fertilization. They both desperately wanted more babies soon."
Well that would explain why Jolie had twins, since multiples are usually a side effect of IVF.
According to Dr. Arthur Wisot of L.A.'s Reproductive Medical Group, the chance of having fraternal twins at Angelina's age naturally, she's 33, is under 1%. But with in-vitro the chances become 25%.
Dr. Wisot says, "We live in an era of reproductive freedom, so anybody can do anything they want within legal limits."
A source says Angelina chose the procedure so "she wouldn't have to deal with the stress of trying to get pregnant. She could just knock it out."
What stress? Don't people like to get pregnant by having lots of sex?

IVF requires a lot of preparation and hormonal injections. Often this can cause women to gain weight. So it's really ridiculous to say because they were skinny it must have been through IVF that they conceived. I know several mothers, all under the age of 33, who had fraternal twins naturally. It's not impossible. I don't believe this for a second.
The actual act of "trying" is not stressful, but the waiting and the disappointment from not being pregnant this month, and having to try next month is very stressful.
This is not a surprise to me. 80% of the all actors do it. She was able to plan the pregnancy so it wouldn't be a conflict in her work schedule. Plus, they wanted a boy and a girl

All of them get IVF, just think about all the celebrities with twins. Julia Roberts, Angelina Jolie, Dennis Quaid, Jenifer Lopez, Jane Seymour….the list goes on and on I'm sure. I had fraternal twins when I was 30. They were conceived when I was 29. They were natural and I heard of lots of other young moms so I don't believe it.

it is very stressful trying to get pregnant. but in vitro is very expensive and not everyone can afford that. so they are very fortunate that they are able to do that.

Trying to have a baby can be very stressful as it can take a healthy couple up to 6 months to get pregnant. Many Dr.'s will not treat you for infertility until after you have unsuccessfully tried for over one year. THAT can be stressful enough.

All these celebs who are too old or too skinny to get preggo naturally use in vitro because they are rich enough to do it and all their friends have done it successfully. Why else would there be such a dearth of old or super-skinny Hollywood stars having twins? And actually they often have to pick and choose which of their embryos to keep or abort — it's called, reduction.

too skinny to get pregnant???….what does that even mean. Women come in all shapes and sizes….some of us gals are just naturally thin. I know that extremely athletic womens' systems can can shut down, but that doesn't mean us thin girls will have issues getting pregnant.

of course its in vitro - and that's not a big deal, really. tons of women do it…as soon as it was announced they were having twins, i KNEW it was either from medication or in vitro. as far as the "skinny"comment, perez you are right - women who are too too skinny or too overweight have trouble ovulating and so its no surprise to me that she wouldnt' be ovulating. i just wish that when famous women had children with the help of medicine, etc., they would share it b/c so many women have to deal with it and it still has a stigma. it might be better if the world knew that people like J.Lo and angelina went through it also…i would wager my life savings taht all of these famous women with fraternal twins had some sort of medical intervention and that's great! of course is personal and in the end who cares HOW someone gets pregnant, but people talk about it like its this terrible thing…. i'd say good for them but i'm not a fan and they are complete fraud so whatever…
Just an fyi.. some people are unable to get pregnant just from having lots of sex. Infertility is a major health issue that seems to just get blown over by many due to lack of understanding. Most couples that need IVF to conceive cannot afford it or have to take out major loans as most insurance companies do not cover the treatment.

Hey Perez - I am currently DOING an IVF cycle…and your comment about Angie (and or Nicole) being too skinny to have conceived naturally and that it would make sense that she got preggers thru IVF MAKES NO SENSE!!! And yes, a side effect of some of the meds is weight GAIN, not loss.
being too skinny has nothing to do with it IMO. my sister is as skinny as angie and nicole. she's probably skinnier [and always has been] and she's had three kids naturally. she even unnaturally lost weight after having kids. some people are just unnatural naturally like that.

Seriously, do you do any homework, any research before you post this shit? IVF is a last ditch effort in fertility treatments. Women are directed through IUI (intra-uterine injection) for at least 2 cycles (about 3 months) before IVF is suggested. And prior to IVF, women have to prepare first for egg retrieval by taking hormones to increase follicle production, then harvesting. After a week or so of incubating the eggs with the (donor) sperm, the embryos are implanted in the uterus. ANY DOCTOR WHO PERFORMS THIS PROCEDURE WILL DO SO ONLY AS A LAST RESORT FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE INFERTILE. It is reckless of you to post this sort of "gossip" as you are demeaning the procedure by inferring that it is done so whimsically. By the way, neitehr woman's weight has anything to do with being unable to conceive. If they can get their period, the can conceive.
There's little doubt in my mind that they used some sort of fertility help. When you get as skinny as she is, your body doesn't always ovulate and you can have big problems conceiving.

Re: Dance – no disrespect but he is partially right. if you are over/underweight even just by a few pounds it can really determine your chances of conceiving. i know from personal experience and yes it is stressful trying to get pregnant, it isnt always up to the potential parents whether they get a + or - result and that does add stress to the situation. just saying.
