Princess' Diaries Nabbed By the Feds

It looks like Anne Hathaway is in for more than she bargained for!
According to a new report, the FBI has seized the actress’ private journals as part of their on-going investigation of her shady ex-boyfriend, Raffaello Follieri.
Follieri, who once claimed he was the Chief Financial Officer for the Vatican, has been charged with 11 counts of fraud and money laundering.
The Feds reading your diaries? Sounds pretty serious to us!
Hathaway, who has been charged with no crime, has cut off all contact with her troubled ex. A friend reveals, “she’s changed her numbers so he can’t reach her. Raffaello has been trying to call her all the time.”
Other insiders report that he still wonders whether the Get Smart star helped put him behind bars, “He was in Europe, working on a deal. He didn’t have to come back to New York. He knew he was being investigated. But she kept calling him, saying they needed to resolve their future. A few days after his return, he was arrested.”
Poor Anne.
Who knew falling in love could land you in the middle of a serious Fed probe?!

Anne's situation really reminds me of the musical Funny Girl. Fanny thinks her whole world is perfect and falls in love with this really rich gambler, Nicky Arenstein, but he turns out to be nothing but a crook that embezzles money like nobody's business. It is very, very sad and my heart goes out to her.
Many great writers, poets, politicians, actors and everyday peo'ple keep journals for whatever reason. It must be difficult for her, but at least she's co-operating. You know half the celebs out there would be like "oh, he's innocent, etc etc." Good for you Anne.
first of all, there have been rumors surrounding him for at least a year. 2nd-it might have been an appointment book type thing. Or maybe celebrities do keep journals. With all the law suits against people, it might be smart of them to not only keep an appointment book, but who they meet when they are out at these events. figure they are going to use it to see where Raffy was and see if it contridicts his testamony. She is going to have to give some kind of test. where it is video or in person. How did the authorities know about the 'diary' unless she told them about it. Wonder if she was helping the fbi?

I am absolutely amazed at this report!!! I think that is horrible. How dare they!!!! How DARE they!!! Ann's personal journals have absolutely NO PLACE in this investigation. It is none of their business what she wrote. If they are looking to confirm timelines or visits ortravel plans they need to meet with her lawyers and get a sworn deposition from her or an affidavit about it. That is the only possible stuff they could get from her. This is a fucking fishing expedition. Maybe they really don't have enough to get him on or something. He might really be a terrible sleazeball, but I am very offended by the FBI who are even bigger sleazeballs. WTF!

When you are under federal investigation, you're fair game. When federal agents are now involved, they can search you home(s) and you and they haul boxes and boxes of documents and all stuff gathered, including your PC hard drives, anything where writing and paper trail appear, etc., etc. I believe Ann's father is a lawyer, so I'm sure he explained the process to her, including getting a high-powered lawyer. She has appeared in roles where she is so naive, but I never realized it was true to life, naive+stupid. If my boyfriend lives a jetsetting lifestyle, showers me with expensive gifts, trips, plus a posh apartment, etc., I think I will ask and verify anything he says. Connections with the Vatican? even a 8-year old will ask many many questions!
