He grew attention just because many wondered what it was like to work with "Zack" or "AC" not because they even cared about him. Either Dustin is really a smart guy and took notes and video when Saved by the Bell was airing. Or he is making up alot of crap. I watched this show religiously when I was younger, I loved it and Zack was always my favorite. Time and again it's been brought up that he was the baby of the cast and the older cast members didn't include him in anything.
