don't think so, the olympics do not get the best ratings and even with that, it depends during what event the commercial is shown. what I think is far worse is the sinfully large amount of money being spent on this election. Yes, I know the money is donated, but both have around 95 million to spend as of a few weeks ago, both raising over 50 mill in june. I wish with all the cutbacks in this country, some of these donations would have been made to charities, etc.

Personally, although I myself support Barack Obama and his promises, I think that it's sickening to think of how much money in advertising is wasted in these campaigns when in recent news we've been hearing nothing but stories of people losing their jobs. 5 million dollars is alot of money that could have gone to some philanthropic organization but instead is being thrown away on television advertisements that serve no value other than to inform the American voters about something they already know. Sure, advertising is important, but in many cases the candidates get plenty of free advertising on news programs where the campaign is discussed almost nonstop.
