Very very very exciting news!
Fleetwood Mac is gearing up for a tour in early 2009 that will likely be followed by a new band album.
Yay!!!!!
A world with more Stevie Nicks is a happier planet!
Band member Lindsay Buckingham said, "There was no sense we had to jump right in the studio. I think maybe there was even a sense that we would make a better album if we went out and hung out together first on the road … maybe even sowing some seeds musically that would get us more prepared to go in the studio rather than just going in cold. It takes the pressure (off) from having to go in and make something cold."
The recent rumors that Sheryl Crow will be joining the band are not true, thankfully.
Buckingham says the matter "kinda got out of hand," though there were discussions between the Fleetwood Mac members and Crow. Ultimately, he says, the prospect "just kind of lost its momentum."
It's all about Stevie!
We can't wait to see them live (again)!

I can't believe that this woman is 60 years old. She's damned near perfect! She could teach Madonna a few things about growing older gracefully, that's for sure! She never had to "reinvent" herself or use shock tactics to keep herself relevant because she has genuine talent. She doesn't need all the bells and whistles, smoke and mirrors, over the top concerts that people can't afford, the PR (both good and bad) because she can do something that Madonna can't. She can stand on a stage and SING, that's all she needs to do. She doesn't need younger men (or women) to carry her performances, just a glance between her and Lindsay Buckingham is hotter than Madonna kissing Britney Spears or being felt up by her backup dancers.
This is a woman who BELONGS in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Not some cheesy pop singer whose biggest talent is knowing how to market herself. YAY Stevie!!!

I sincerely wish that Christine McVie would consider going out on tour with with Mac again. Her vocal blend will be sorely missed. It's not as though the tour isn't finite, and the drama of youth turned into fond, reflective professionalism.
