The sad yet inevitable has happened.
Randy Pausch has passed away.
The former professor at Carnegie Mellon was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and became an Internet sensation after his inspirational Last Lecture became viral on YouTube.
Pausch subsequently appeared on Oprah and his Last Lecture was recently turned into a book.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and children, whom he dedicated his moving speech to.

I cry for a man I didn't know and a person that we should all try to be like.
What a tremendous loss, may God bless his children and help them and his wife through this difficult time. He is in a much better place now. Too bad there are not more people like him in this world

I am deeply saddened by this news, I was just checking his site the other day for updates and seen where he wasn't doing to well but was still holding onto hope. For Randy: You outlived the doctor's expectations and you saved many lives. I will never forget the letter that man wrote to you. The man that wanted to commit suicide but decided not to, he realized that he took everything for granted, while you took nothing for granted. Long live your memory Randy, the inspiration you gave others, and the lives that you changed.
He was such an inspiration to everyone on how we should live our life to the fullest! His family should be so proud of him and God Bless his wife and children through this terrible loss
He was a great man. His lectures are amazing. Two of my favorite quotes from him are on my mirrors. His quotes provide inspiration for me whenever I need a pick me up.

A friend sent me Randy's book in a care package about a week ago. "The Last Lecture" is really inspiring to me during my current deployment. R.I.P.

That's horrible. I've watched his speech countless amounts of times and his book is one of my altime favorites. Wow, we lost a great man.
He was such a true inspiration. I saw him on Oprah and was humbled how he had the courage and the energy to do what he was doing. He put a lot of things in perspective for me. His family is in my thoughts and prayers.

This breaks my heart. I knew it was inevitable, but I had hoped Randy would live long & defy the doctors' prognosis. He is the most incredible man… who inspired many, including myself. God be with him & his family at this terribly difficult time.

I saw him and his family on 20/20. What an amazing person! Just listening to him for a few minutes makes you want to be a better person. He really puts things in perspective. Makes you wish everyone could live and think like he did. God Bless him and his loving family.

I hope he died knowing how many millions of lives he touched and improved with his wonderfully inspiring attitude. For him to find that kind of selfless strength in the face of one of life's most frightening challenges is truly humbling. His children should be very, very proud of their Dad.

I will be honest, I really never heard of him till I watched him on Oprah. What an amazing man.. I only hope I have his strength and courage if faced with an untimely death. What a horrible loss!

I have been checking his website every day for updates and had a feeling he was going downhill when there had not been an update in a few weeks. He was always good about updating his page. This is such sad news and so tragic for his very small children. Godspeed Randy!

damn, i was following this story and i am truly hurt and my heart goes out to the family, especially his children, i lost my mom not to long ago and i know how they are feeling. one day he's there, and the next the world has completely changed…in his honor today i will live like it is my last…i hope everyone takes something from him and his story. RIP
Sending my condolences. There was no updates on his site so I knew he must not have been doing well. I'm sad but he was a great man, very inspirational. He helped me a lot before & after my father passed away from pancreatic cancer. It made me happy to see Randy fighting the cancer like a champ but also enjoying life.

As a fellow Pittsburgher, my heart goes out to his family. I have watched, listened and prayed for him and his family since meeting him. For those who have lost someone dear, the heart does amazing things. Again, my prayers for those who knew and loved him.
I saw his Last Lecture when it swept the internet. Brilliant! I highly recommend it to anyone. Not just for the topic of death, which is *not* what its about .. but for life and living.
