Mark McGrath is OUT as the host of TV's Extra.
The rocker turned celeb news show host is being replaced by none other than Mario Lopez.
Shit, Slater has probably been campaigning for the job since he joined Extra part-time in 2007.
When the show returns for its 15th season next month, co-host Dayna Devon is also getting a DEMOTION - she will remain on as "a special correspondent."
Lots of changes being made!
A rep for the show says, "[Mario Lopez] has established himself as a highly engaging, likeable and sought-after host and personality."
Hey, at least McGrath can fall back on his band, Sugar Ray.
Too bad no one cares about that band anymore!

just means that extra had low ratings and they blamed the hosts. Wonder if the writers, producers, etc. went too. But, don't know how it is elsewhere, but you have TMZ followed on other channels by the insider, entertainment tonight, access Hollywood. Unless it is because it is in reruns, extra is not even listed at night in NYC-it is at Noon. How do you expect to make money at that time?

I like Mark. He use to live here in Newport and went to my rival school - Corona del Mar High. I have been to his restaurant here in Newport - A's Restaurant - where the old Arches Rest. use to be.
