    Re: Kelly – #248

You don't know shit about politics and you are claiming you do. Who controlled the first 6 years of Bush's term in congress? I will give you a hint, it wasn't the Democrats. Bush had a republican congress up until 2006. Then people wised up and realized that shit wasn't working out and voted in the dems. It will take awhile to clean up their mess. It is scary that you republicans actually believe the shit you hear on fox news.

OK, just found these assessments of the candidates' current "plans" for the future. These show that Obama plans to help the average person while making sure that the upper income people actually pay their fair share instead of being allowed tax breaks and loopholes that we average people do not get:

"According to an analysis by the non-partisan Tax Policy Center, under Obama’s blueprint, “The largest tax cuts, as a share of income, would go to those at the bottom of the income distribution, while taxpayers with the highest income would see their taxes rise significantly.”

“McCain’s tax cuts would primarily benefit those with very high incomes, almost all of whom would receive large tax cuts that would, on average, raise their after-tax incomes by more than twice the average for all households,” said the Tax Policy Center.

A dose of reality for the whack-job Republican posters here who would have you believe otherwise.

What really burns me up is when I see a brain dead, lying Bush supporter who insists dubya has nothing to do with where the country is now and the price of gasoline. If the government isn't responsible for this mess we're in, who is - the people who go to work every day, handle their responsibilities and pay their taxes? Wake up, people. This worthless embarrassment and half of his administration should go to prison.

How dumb is everyone on this message board? Every president for like the last 30 years has left with a "record deficit!"

    Re: Karen

My mother and her fellow teachers aren't new to the system and have seen the education system decline over the years. She has taught for over 20 years and goes to conferences all the time that deal with this act. It hasn't worked, this isn't a liberal teacher thing and I don't need your education.
She talks to teachers all over the country about the sad state of education and the faults of the NCLBA. I guess it is more important to you and republicans that at least someone can't get sued. How about thinking more about the education aspect. We have one of the worst education systems in the world.

  10. 310

Perez…not Billions Hunny…..it's TRILLIONS…..that little war in Iraq…that racks up millions PER DAY….America's gold is owned by China and Japan….watch more Chinese and Japanese interests being served by America….true dat….look it up!

  11. MOLLY says – reply to this

    Perez you dope.

Defecit means how much money is being spent.
It's the DEBT you have to worry about. And, while the debt is still extremely large, it is not as bad as the defecit. The defecit consists of the tax dollars being spent, whereas the debt is everything we spent that our government didn't have enough money to pay for.

But I sure can't wait until you realise that, if Obama gets elected, the debt and defecit with double within a year.

  12. Karen says – reply to this

Re: cluel – Of course our education system is declining, do you know that McCain wants to help low income families whose students are in "stuggling" school to help get funding to go to PRIVATE SCHOOLS? Yes, and Bush also supports this, OBAMA DOES NOT.

  13. Kitty says – reply to this

Re: chery – What an IDIOT! Are you really as stupid as your post? Are the wars in Afghanistan & Iraq "pork barrel" spending? By the time all of the costs are assessed (all of the money already spent, over a trillion dollars-funds for "rebuilding" HAH! not to mention taking care of the veterans NOT!) it will cost an estimated 2.5 TRILLION dollars! Just how are we going to foot THIS bill? What about our own crumbling infrastructures (roads & bridges), massive home & banks failures, recovery from natural disasters? The Bush presidency WILL go down in history as the worst "natural disaster" to hit America! Pull your head out of your ass & get a clue!

  14. 314

Re: Ugh – fair share. If you made one million dollars this year, would you want $300,000 of that to go BACK to the gov.? That is TOO much. Being left with 700K out of the one million is a little much! Taxes are ridicoulously high ALREADY! It's approx 35% for over ~350K, think about those uppwe middle class people who have worked extremly hard to make 350K that year, and then they are left with 250K after tax. (Think about welfare cheats, crackheads etc. … taxes are chill, they're just too high…!) A good example is a president of a university who has dedicated their life to education, at 55-60 years old they finally start to make the big bucks in the 300,000's they pay up taxes, yet people still think they should tax the fuck out of their hard earned paychecks.

Re: Amand – Uhmm idiot…maybe you should check how long the majority has been democratic in congress. It's the fact that every time a republican comes on air they say 'the democratic congress' but it has only been that way for around a year. The rest of the time cunt bucket it was run by bush's puppetiers. But because you like the rest of the morons just turn on your tv and believe whatever you here them spewing from their mouths on Fox News instead of actually learing the facts for yourself. We are in this fucked up situation because of the REPUBLICAN CONGRESS that passed whatever bills Bush sent through without even bothering to look.

So sorry hunny…but yes its nice our teachers are being protected…and children dont get left behind….however..lets look at our countries education as a WHOLE…hmmm we are placed 18th in the world for education….with france being 8th etc etc….our QUALITY has gone NOWHERE. And im sorry but yes teachers should have rights….but lets think about the big picture….in the meantime…with all the "TERRORISTS" in our country (im yet to see one!) our wonderful president has scared this nation into losing all their rights. how friggin awesome is that…ya know just IN CASE those terrorists decided to come over here….
No child left behind is the biggest FAILURE of a plan they could come up with. Children are getting dumber and your wonderful govt is to thank…ya know funding is based on test scores. Sadly we are a VERY young country, who refuses to LEARN from others….America education is # 18…….and our math and science scores have not increased (As they have with almost every other country) since 1995.

Both McCain and Obama are going to have to tax the crap out of us you moron because of the unbelivable debt Bush created for us. That is something no one seems to grasp. McCain will continue to follow in Bush's footsteps as he has already basically said, while Obama is looking to change things and maybe he wont be able to change things immediately but atleast he is fresh and excited to do the right things for our country and set up a better future for us. Its because of ignorant people like you that our country is in the mess its in. Come to your senses.
And by the way-Congress and Senate were just recently taken over by the Democrats. They were not really the controlling party during most of Bush's tyranny.

  45. OMG! says – reply to this

    BUSH realled fucked this country.
But that's not the worst of it…
Obama just met today with a bunch of financial types, one of whom is Jon Corzine - the governor from NJ who is currently under a recall campaign because he has an approval rating in the low 30's. Just like GWB. The funny thing is he got appointed as the head of a boartd of governors to financially restructure state debt. He used $60 Milion of his own money to run for governor and is a good friend of Hillary Clinton.
This man just added 30% to New Jersey's debt this year alone! If it wasn't for the 200 plus business taxes added or increased in the past two years, New Jersey would be bankrupt right now. There are calls for it to go insolvent and have the federal government take it over.
Just this month, he went against the state constitution and bonded $3.9 Billion in school debt without voter referendum but weeks earlier signed a bill mandating that future governments couldn't do it - not his but future ones.
Obama better watch who he pals around with or else he might be in for a world of hurt and embarrassment.

  46. 346

this deficit may be higher than we think :P

  47. OMG! says – reply to this

I'm voting democrat for the country but republican for New Jersey.
Our state went from not having a deficit 5 years ago to having a $100 Million deficit. This was almost all due to democratic leadership in this state.

Re: Daisy – Yes. We "rigged" the elections. Let's not all forget that it takes longer than 4-8 years for a deficit to get like that. This has been building for years and years…. Yes, even back in the Clinton administration. I voted Bush. I do NOT agree with the war. But I voted for him because he showed promise as a HUMAN BEING. Clinton made mistakes too… he had the chance to capture Hussein way back in the day, and he waived the opportunity. So what happened? Saddam went on to reign cruelly for another near-decade. He made a mistake, but I don't think he was a bad person. Unfortunately for Bush, he based his decisions largely on emotion when it came to the war. He's working to fix the mistake he's made. Most of you have no notion at all of war and economics. We can't simply pull all the troops out tomorrow. That would be unwise and would, likely, begin a civil war. DO YOUR HOMEWORK BEFORE YOU SPEAK. It's good to see that so many want change. I's not okay to call the President disgusting and immature names. And that includes all of you who said things about Clinton when he was in office.

You left wingers. It always bad - its always Bush's fault. The deficit makes up a whopping 3% of the US budget. 3%. Proportionally the deficit is LOWER than in the 80's or 90's. What WE ALL should be mad about is the Balanced Budget Amendment. Clinton brought this one upon us. It means that for every dollar the US government brings in they have to spend it!! What kind of successful business runs that way? Please educate your self Perez.
