I am an American and know who she is, subscribe to Vanity Fair and think that's a great cover of a beautiful, interesting, stylish woman. She is a person many people are interested in knowing more about. She says what she thinks and in this country, for a politician's wife, it'd make it nearly impossible to have him win. Stepford wives anyone. She's sexually liberated and that's rare to be able to talk about if not to do.

Secondly, it's the international edition (my favorite of the year) so it makes sense to put the most stylish first lady in the world on the cover. I agree and disagree: I do not think Carla is the "new Jackie O," but that is because she has her own style. Her style is tasteful, classic, and contemporary all at the same time, which is quite a feat. Besides she looks amazing and is a timeless beauty. I like the riding motif! And btw I am sure that's not what she wears on a daily basis… she was obviously styled for the photo shoot. Duh.
